I mean, if you're going to give us a relationship out of nowhere, there should have at least been a wedding special that retcons a romance in there. We could have had a story set inbetween scenes of some 70s Avengers/X-Men crossover, a flashback to T'Challa's college days in America, him as a young prince meeting a girl from another nation that they called a goddess.
