However Star and SU aren't action shows, they are hybrid shows at best, they have more action than a slice of life comedy like say TLH but compare them to things like Megus XLR or SJ and it's obvious they aren't the same genre

There was a big push against violence and war being in cartoons following 9/11 in the states. Things like Gundam (I know it's not a cartoon) got pulled off the air and most cartoons moved away from having actual guns and such in them.
