Good evening owls,

>>
Thank you .
>>
>>92897461
so that movie opens tonight, right?
>>
>>92897461
I wonder what Texas thought of the Wondie movie.
>>
>>92897517
>>
>>92897517
yeah I might go tomorrow afternoon, depends on if I give enough of a fuck I guess
>>

>>92893224
>>
>>92897554
If it's like, really really good, I might try to go but I just don't care about current film
>>
>>92897517

The first bit of Wonder Woman box office is in, and the results are promising. To wit, the film opened in Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Indonesia starting on Tuesday (taking advantage of the Chinese Dragon Boat Holidays) and the two-day total is now $6.3 million.

Also glad dc is releasing so old material in digital form.

hoot hoot motherfuckers

woah, like, it's actually Hawkstuff

>>92897587
that pic is always relevant to our interests
>>
>>92897583
Well for one it's a superhero movie where *gasp* the character development doesn't end for the main character as soon as they put on the costume.
>>
>>92897637
how are you owls tonight?
>>
>>92897637
>that pic is always relevant to our interests
Agreed.
>>
>>92897664
Still reeling from that Amazons Attack storytime
>>
>>92897664
>>
>>92897583
Yeah just kind of thinking about it. It's like $5 for the matinee and the theater is also the same mall as my LCS that I need to go to anyway so I could make two stops at once.
>>
>>92897637
I'm surprised we don't get ANY kind of costume update for the Hawks
I could actually go for a minor Rebirth costume update
>>
>>92897691
Fuuuuuuck

if I go I'd go to the brew'n'view and drink the whole time, so I'd have to budget the time and money for 5-6 beers

Hello, Storyteller.

>>92897517
Yep. One way or another, we must prepare for the next wave of shitposting.

Also, I'd like to give a special shout out to The Saxet Anon. Fuck you for story timing Amazons Attack. You jerk.

>>
>>92897728
>if I go I'd go to the brew'n'view and drink the whole time, so I'd have to budget the time and money for 5-6 beers

yeah when the costs start adding up like that it becomes less worthwhile especially if you're not crazy about it anyway
>>
>>92897863
I really love how casually terrifying Doop is
>>
>>92897868
it's like, I can get 5X the beers for the same money if I drink at home!

Drinking and watching Mishima sounds like a fucking awesome idea, in fact

This one you have to parse in the light of the era, but yeah, this is Milligan being political

>>92898097
Less competent writing than Milligan would have completely crashed and burned a lot of the satire in this run.

Isn't that the Phoglio's porn comic? I really should catch up on Girl Genius sometime.

Oh yeah, I found the syllabus for a course that a local university once taught about graphic novels. Here is the reading list, and the textbook list:
TEXTS (listed in reading order):

• Frank Miller with Klaus Janson and Lynn Varley, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (DC
Comics)
• Alan Moore and David Lloyd with Steve Whitaker and Siobhan Dodds, V for Vendetta (Vertigo)
• Gilbert Hernandez, Human Diastrophism (Fantagraphics)
• Art Spiegelman, Maus, a Survivor’s Tale, vol. I: My Father Bleeds History (Pantheon)
• Charles Burns, Black Hole (Pantheon)
• Chris Ware, Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth (Pantheon)
• Daniel Clowes, Ghost World (Fantagraphics)
• Marjane Satrapi, Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood (Pantheon)
• Alison Bechdel, Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic (Mariner)

As long as there's people reading, can anybody explain what Europa is? I always assumed it was just Europe with Russia lumped in.
>>
>>92898800
I remember seeing Maus and Persepolis in my university bookstore. Imagine it was for some kind of history related class though.
>>
>>92898820
>>
>>92898859

i've had english classes with a random comic or two on the syllabus

>>92898857

>>92897532
Texas anon is seeing it right now I think. He/she mentioned that their mother bought them a surprise ticket in the Amazons attack thread

Anyone take the time to track down any of his horror?

Relatedly, what do people think of Rainbow Rowell on Runaways? I saw a surprisingly caustic reaction which surprised me because that's kind of a big name (I know her and I don't read anything like her stuff) and also from what I do know her shit basically *is* Runaways, it's on-brand.

The hate I saw wasn't about her being (another) novel writer which I could get - more about her treatment of Asian characters?
>>
>>92905792
Nope. Guess I might throw down for some if it's ebook format.
