To be fair they said the game was coming out in September, we knew they had no time. Even reusing assets they're gonna have a small roster because they're rushing a release again.

I think this roster is perfect. And for Marvel I know all the character for the very first time and I don't say to myself "what is that person" from? I love it.

Compared to sfv Ken? Yeah, Akuma and Ryu are pretty fucking similar. Sf5 Ken is a more drastic departure. I've played them all and Akuma has always been just a pumped-up Ryu with a couple exclusive normals, specials, (and throws as of sf4) and a couple supers. Ken is way different than both of them. Ryu and Akuma are just 2 sides of the same coin. Ken's gone his own way in 5.

However let's face it: Carnage would not play that different from Venom. If another symbiote should be added, it should be one that isn't exactly like Venom power-set wise. They already did sort of incorporate Carnage into the series via Red Venom in MvC1, who was essentially a Venom clone that moved and attacked twice as fast but took twice as much damage.

But Carnage wouldn't have to play exactly like Venom, there's enough you can do with their powers to create two different characters. Carnage could easily be a fragile and speedy version of Venom with a rushdown based moveset. They wouldn't have to be clones.
