Elric is for _____
>>92866255Suffering.
>>92867268
What did he see?
>>92867268
>Who can?
Well fuck you too.Post the next pic
>>92867488
>>92867488
>What did he see?
Something new
>>92867701
>Post the next pic
>>92867726
>>92867488
And that is what Elric saw.
>>92867268
>That face
>>92867726
it's funny, as a kid I always imagined Stormbringer to be a female form of pure blackness, that take on what it would be like is a thousand times more disturbing
>>92867268
also who is he talking to? My memories are quite bad of the end except for SB bringing its faggotry to the balance, is this Arioch?
Elrod is for _____
>>92867629
also wtf is this moonglum face?
it reminds me way too much of pic related
>>92868170
>also who is he talking to? My memories are quite bad of the end except for SB bringing its faggotry to the balance, is this Arioch?
Sepiriz, some guy from earlier in the story.
>>92868322
well shit now I don't remember who he was in the strory and i'm enven more confused as to who the fuck this faggot supposed to be
>>92868413
He was basically just a fountain of exposition who explainedhow and why Elric had to end the world and usher in a new one.
>>92868639
and did he appear as an exposition fountain in other universes ?
>>92867268
>No meaning. No pattern. Then why have I suffered all this.
In a reality of destiny it was perhaps preordained, and so it must happen to you.
In an uncertain reality it was beyond anyone's ability to know or interfere and so it simply inevitably did happen to someone, that someone is you.
In either case you will not be alleviated your situation.
>>92868748
fuck when you think about it Moorcock made the whole destiny of a hero such a fucking terrifying thing in Elric, i mean every "fated one" always had to be a dragonborn, a Shepard or a Superman, but in Elric that's the total upsidedown, his fate was to suffer so that the greatest god of them all, one he could not even see or talk to unlike burning cherub, could make a whole new world out of the ashes of his family, friends and loved ones, and he could not do shit about it, even if he knew, it would have all ended with him on a world made by the death of everyone else.
But was it in the balance plan that "very bad weather mailman in the form of a sword" would go fuck shit up ?
>>92868965
>very bad weather mailman
I never thought I'd find myself laughing at Stormbringer of all things.
How come I hadn't heard of Elric until a few months ago? Was it the timeline switch?
>>92869069
well despite being a "pillar" in the genre of "DnD" litterature, it's pretty fucking niche in itself, people who read it back in the day kind of disapeared like the virgin neckbeard they were back in the day to enjoy such "nerd" litterature, kinda, the only reason I've known about it was because of a french youtuber in a let's ply of skyrim to be fair, so it's pure fucking hasard I know about it, plus when was the last time you saw hype publicity for pic related? exactly you didn't, nobody cares enough anymore
>>92869069
i mean shit just look at how dead the thread is
>>92869300
I learned about it through that Blue oyster cult song.
>>92869497
exctly, do you imagine if people who knew about lord of the ring only knew about it because of a song? even if it wasn't the perfect book and sometimes took hours just to describe shit, it was a good series, it was dark without being overly edgy, and a ginger with an actual soul for once if we are to believe the end
The world has shit taste man...
>>92869300
I learned of Elric through Blind Guardian's song Tanelorn.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcfXaJviIN4
>>92869069
I got introduced to it through Hawkwind vinyls, they did a ton of songs about Elric.
https://youtu.be/STNrzt5jKvo
This concert had Moorcock himself on stage doing some readings, check it out.
>>92866255
wait, I thought the elric saga was a novel
>>92869876
yes but in an attempt to cash crab, multiple comics have been made out of it, some with more fidelity than others,
>>92869300
pic related for instance is a recent one where Stormbringer, Elrics cursed sword, talk to him like a sexy slutty sword in tome 2, despite "it" never talking in the books
>>92866255
You know I find it strange how Moorcock isn't receiving the same amount of recognition among the mainstream faux geek fantasy nerds that only hopped onto the bandwagon after TBBT made it acceptable to like. Despite Moorcock's works being incredibly progressive for their time and still being relevant today without feeling too outdated. Feels strange he's basically ignored.
>>92871593
too "gross and sexist" for today's fantasy nerds to enjoy, at least that's what I was told when I tried to lend an elric omnibus to a college friend.
>>92869069
>>92869300
If Stormbringer hadn't fucked one of my first games of Nethack I would never, ever have heard of Elric.
>>92866255
Being Plagiarized by some Polish hack.
>>92872248
>got into Elric because my mother had the paperback novels
>she was pretty much a fucking hippie and she loved them
I fucking hate modern day liberals.
>>92872248
I hate modern fantasy since it's all just Tolkien wankery or GRRM grim dark copycats, no one is doing anything new or innovative. At least with Moorcock he brought up some interesting themes but with the likes of he and Gene Wolfe the real geniuses are being left to fade into obscurity while fraudsters like GRRM are placed on a pedestal.
>>92869876
Elric's been just about everything. Except a movie, possibly thankfully, since we know how /tv/ ruins everything.
>>92872567
Yup, I'm kind of glad Lovecraft literature isn't being raped to death and made into the next Harry Potter or Game of Thrones but I'm curious if this is considering how racist Lovecraft was. I remember there was a surge in popularity for Cthulu somewhere around 09 or 08 but after that I guess interest was waned.
>>92873150
>Lovecraft literature isn't being raped to death
Moorcock
>>92872248
>too "gross and sexist" for today's fantasy nerds to enjoy
whut
nothing sexist about MM. Compared to the game of thrones guy for example
>>92873063
It's funny because GRRM and Moorcock are friends.
I think GRRM understands how the game is played and how fantasy has to get bland to reach a wide audience.
>>92869069
Because you don't read fantasy novels, you occasionally read a novel that a movie you saw was based on.
