Why is 2007-2012 considered a dark age for Nick and cartoons

I've been reading on the Internet that people consider the late 2000s and early 2010s (2007-2012) to be a bad time for cartoons especially for Nick. Why do people say that? They had great shows at this time like Catscratch, The X's, El Tigre, Mighty B!, Wayside, Making Fiends, TUFF Puppy, Planet Sheen Robot and Monster etc. I'm honestly really confused. It also offends me because that time was in my childhood. Would people prefer Nick today? They don't have nearly as much variety of excitement as they used to, would you guys rather watch Breadwinners or Bunsen Is A Beast? If someone would please tell me what made the late 2000s and early 2010s bad, I would greatly appreciate it.

the only good stuff in there is El Tigre and Making Fiends, and arguably Catscratch and TUFF Puppy.

At that time, the majority of the cartoons from companies like Disney Channel and WB were basically like what the current Nicktoons are, if you know what I mean. Nowadays, most cartoon distributors are now turning out material that is capable of appealing to diverse audiences - except Nick, which most people can agree is only falling deeper into the rut they started digging 10 years ago.
>>
They're associated with the influx of live action, so they were never given the care and polish from the get go by higher ups, than the earlier shows that launched networks. Why spend more money on cartoons when live action is cheaper?

Western animation died in 2005. Cartoons since that pivotal year have exclusively been varying degrees of abominations.

Mighty B! was better than half of those shows

ehh maybe I dont remember it much.

that time period had more bad than good, however i appreciate 2007-2010

As a kid I really wanted to see what happens when bessie got all of te badges

Until Harvey Beaks gets a DVD, and maybe a third season I've lost all faith in Nickelodeon.
>>
All I know is that there is a point where Nick, Cartoon Network, and Disney got blown up by nothing but Live Action shows.

Disney gets a pass since it was never really a cartoon only network but Cartoon Network had no business trying to jump on the Live Action train. Nick had good live action series for a time but also came out with some stupid shit like Naked Brothers Band

This was when live actions series were being pushed by Disney, CN and Nick over any of their animated stuff aside from maybe Spongebob; all of the cartoons you've brought up never really caught on and I *think* most of them are entirely Nicktoons. It was just a series of bad programming choices between all the studios as the wells dried up.

Avatar had been schedule screwed over leaving its pacing kinda borked and the whole thing was shunted to the nicktoons channel the moment it was finished.

This was when Toonami died, and while Adventure time/ Regular show grew out from the middle of this time frame (2009/2010) during this period we lost Chowder and Flap Jack. CN also started their trend of shunting things like Transformers animated and other cartoons they didn't have direct control over to unfavorable times making them hard to catch and they had numerous 'duds'. Generator Rex, Secret Saturdays,et. all were forgotten as soon as they started and Symbionic Titan was screwed from the start because there was no toyline.

You know what these all have in common? They were all fucked over by a network that really only wanted to air Spongebob and would quietly dump anything that wasn't an instant hit onto Nicktoons Network. Almost all the ones you listed only lasted one season, with the exceptions of Mighty B and TUFF Puppy, but those were quietly shuffled off to Nicktoons Network as well.

Also Planet Sheen sucked.

The single episode of Planet Sheen I saw did a Klatu Barada Nikto joke. So I can't absolutely hate it.
>>
>>92855090
This. Nobody cares about most of those shows because Nick treated them like shit.
