>>
>>92850757
I prefer him to be firmly rooted in Bruce.

People get lost in their jobs but they don't start calling themselves their job title.

DC needs to start telling writers, canonically, how crazy bruce is. It varies far too much in main books. Elseworlds should be where they dissect his possible mental health issues.
>>
I love how each of these focuses on Diana's kindness, compassion, and diplomatic leanings. It's almost like those traits make her likeable or something. Pfft.

Also, despite the questionable art, the kaiju one is the best. I demand that kaiju become recurring character, cause that was fuckin' adorable.
>>
>>92850757
I get what you mean and since Bruce is holding the lasso he's bound to the truth so does that mean he sees himself as Batman or is he just omitting the Bruce part since saying he's batman is the truth anyway.

This makes me so very very sad that it's such a bitch to follow WW runs.

I really want to like the character and get more into her but again, it's such a mess. But every time I see her when ti's not bloodlust Diana she looks top tier
>>
>>92850450

I think her lasso showed her that the kaiju had a "true" reason, or just showed her it wasn't just a beast. I don't think it's too far fetched to think that if she thinks something about a being and it's not the truth her lasso will warn her. And come on, in this very damn issue she said the lasso can translate.
>>
>>92861058
Actually anon I'd argue that Wonder Woman is significantly easier to follow than Batman or Superman.

The parts that are shitty are crossovers that you can ignore.

For the most part it's just straight through from #1 through to #226, with only a couple of short fill-ins, and only one truly shitty run.

You got:
>Perez from #1-62
>WML from WW Special then #63-100
>Byrne from #101-135
>shitty era that you can skip all of except #151-153
>Jimenez era from #164-188
>Rucka era from #195-226
>Picoult era from vol. 3 #6, 7-10
>Simone era from #14-44
>Azzarello era from vol. 4 #1-35
And then Rebirth.

She's one of the few characters that you can read straight through from her post-Crisis debut up to the modern day with very few parts worth skipping, and she has few Elseworlds/OGNs to complicate things.

I recently read every post-Crisis issue in order and it was mostly a joy to read and very refreshing considering most characters require you to jump around different titles or skip entire runs.
>>
So, is silver-armor Wonder Bitch still a thing, or (hopefully) replaced by amazing Rebirth Diana?
>>
This was fun. I think it's a pretty fun thing to give someone as an intro to WW though, although all the stories are quite hi-action.
>>
>>92861652
Fuck off, Rucka. Your comic is shit.
>>
>>92861790

Someone actually likes discount-Injustice Wondy? I'm genuinely surprised. Good God man, why?
>>
>>92861754
Something I've been thinking about lately is that maybe it's important to have action in Wondie comics.

At the end of the day, she IS a superhero, and even though Rebirth has done a wonderful job of having action while keeping Diana defensive/non-violent, you still have people saying it's boring.

Something Marston understood was that boys wouldn't be interested in Wonder Woman if she was completely peaceful. While I detest the current "badass female" character trend action is what gets people into theaters.

Maybe I've made the mistake of looking at this from a marketing/mass appeal perspective. From reviews it seems the movie may do a good job of having the necessary action to get people who need that into the theater while not going overboard and making her warrior bitch.

>>92861790

How could you possibly prefer her to this?
>>
>>92861554
This. Plus the few stand-alone stories she has like League of One don't depend on heavy continuity.
>>
>>92861937
>you still have people saying it's boring.

Because barely anything happens and when something of note occasionally does happen it's entirely anti-climactic. And the issue with her non-violent approach is that it doesn't offer any type of tension. It's shit like a lot of build up for a confrontation and then it's a ton of talking, "I love you" and snap, problem solved. Nothing Diana does feels like there's actual gravitas behind her actions. She doesn't even get to have any interesting and loathesome evil nemesis since they're all misunderstood victims who just need a hug. Even Ares ffs was turned into "oh he just needs his meds and left alone and he's not a bad guy deep down"
>>
>>92850421
I'm surprised there isn't more of a reaction to this cameo from Knifehead.
>>
>>92850193
>Batman

>>
>>92862753
I wanted to reference this but I couldn't remember if Knifehead was from Pacific Rim or Gamera
>>
>>92854606
It depends on whether it's purely the Lasso of Truth, or it has currently regained some of its old properties as a Lasso of Submission.
>>
>>92861942
It feels like they're verging on infantalizing her, like that Starfire comic that had her written kind of as a child despite clearly being a grown-ass woman.
>>
>>92864434
Well at that time she was only 22 and was completely new to Man's World and having the freedom to do whatever she wants, as well as her powers.
>>
>>92864434
she just gained amazing powers and is a world with a bunch of new stuff of course she's doing stuff
>>
>>92861937
I don't think it's a problem to have action, it might just be nice to have one less intense story in the four.
>>
The timeline of this annual is confusing.
>>
>>92851776
>>92851535
I found it pretty generic. I think Geoff wrote it with the intention of adapting it into the movies down the line, as it's really simplistic and very "blockbuster"-like. I found JLA Year One to be a better modernization of the origin, as it pays homage to the original incarnation of the time and the lightheartedness of the original stories, while also moving forward as it's own thing.
