I love the rare social moments with the trinity. This was good. It looks like with Rebirth, we might get back some of that mid-years post-crisis magic, with optimistic Superdad, a Bruce that isn't yet fully destroyed by a lifetime of being the Bat, and a Wonder Woman that isn't a raging bitch from hades. Now all they have to do is add some WonderBats flirtation once every couple of issues, and I'll be in nostalgia heaven.

This may have been pre-planned but I remember he took a few issues off from the monthly for personal reasons. in that time they changed one of the "political" issues but I'm not sure if any of that would have effected the annual.

i think they'd assumed it was going to be a long strech of Franc issues which would give room for the annual to look and feel different.

As it stands this series has been a bit of a disappointment in my opinion.

Batman always referring to WW as a goddess, when Rucka has been trying to show WW as human as possible.

That arc was all about Wonder Woman being a vain and cold bitch with superiority complex that left Magog's parents to die due to her negligence and had to be taught by Superman how to be a proper hero. You even had even more of the amazons being cold murderer bitches that were willing to sell their male infants to Circe in exchange of magic.

It was a fucking horrible arc. Easily one of the worst example of Wonder Woman being thrown in the bus for Superman in N52.

Movie versions, if they are well recieved, always end up the defining version of the character. Just look at the MCU. It's already started with Wondy's armor.

You can bet Aquaman will become closer to his movie counterpart in personality than the cold and regal king he is now.

Then Tomasi goes and insert a retcon to a small moment of flirting between Superman and Wonder Woman during that arc, where Superman complimented Wonder Woman's strength, and turned that small moment into a length arguing between the two all so he could show that Superman as a caring and righteous guy who called out Wonder Woman on her uncaring and prejudiced attitude on humans.
