7 seasons, and they never said how Shredder went from asshole who wanted to take over the Foot Clan to armored guy working with an alien brain to take over the world. I feel like there is a large chapter missing there.

Also makes his whole betrayal against Splinter pointless since he seems to have left the foot anyway and went with robot ninjas instead.

The entire gang was mutated (including a bat) but they never appeared after the first season. Some have speculated the mutagen was diluted and the gang members mutated back and abandoned the Technodrome prior to it being sent back to Dimension X

But like many things, the 80's show did not really explain why he was a homeless weirdo living in the sewer pretending the rats were his furry friends. That guy seriously fell on some hard times after getting kicked out of the Foot.

You can work it out yourself, though. He's in a foreign country, with no friends, no family, and no previous employment history except the ninja clan that kicked him out. Really hard times.

The "man turned rat" origin also made his rivalry with Shredder more personal, and allowed for plots where he could seek a cure.

I actually like the 80's show for introducing the concepts like

I fucking loved 2003 Baxter. That guy just kept getting fucking wrecked and coming back time and time again, he went from like losing an arm or a leg until he was a head in a jar, a giant robot crab thing, a zombie and all kinds of shit.

I always looked forward to and enjoyed seeing the return of BAXTER STOCKMAN in 2003.
