2016. PPGZ was alright. Mediocre, sure, but it didn't bastardize the original. It was as good as a low-budget saturday-morning magical girl anime could really be expected to be.
It helps that they actually consulted with Craig in creating the show, and respected the constraints he set on them.

Z actually looked alright at least. 2016 is poorly designed and animated and has a whole host of other problems.
At least Z is a novel idea and can be worth it just because it's one of those I can't believe this is a thing type deals.

PPGZ never tried to be PPG and instead just had fun mixing more traditional magical girl stuff with some ideas and characters from PPG.
It's not even remotely comparable to the reboot. It's barely comparable to the original.
