The way I'm reading it, in the old universe Pasqualo thinks he's garbage. He moped and cried and generally felt like a burden to his friends. Aurora, despite "knowing" what would happen was always positive and selfless. So when he recreates the universe, he recreates himself in her image so he can try and be the selflessly supportive person she was.

In terms of concluding the story, I would say it objectively accomplished this better than Evangelion, because Pasqualo actually learned something, we saw him learn it, and exercised his will to utilize his learning to do something good with it. Shinji halfassed his existence right up to the end, and then we're told he learned something, but he didn't really, shit just kind of happened around him, the end. Eva told, It Hurts showed.

Not to say Evangelion isn't still one of the most important and influential animated works ever created in the history of man, but you know, shoulders of giants and all.

How would one go about reading the proto-version of this comic? I keep hearing about a "previous incarnation" of pasqualo but I'm not familiar with the source material enough..?

In God Dammit!, Ally (then called Kirstie) professes her love for Pasqualo and they fuck graphically. To this day I'm not sure if he removed the pages because he's simply embarrassed about the content, or because Ally, Aurora, and/or Katie are somehow representative of women in gob's life and it would be awkward to include sex pages with a character who's now relegated to best friend status. None of my business really, but I would like to fap to them one last time...

No, pasqualo knew if he put everything back the way it was he would be unhappy, and he also knew that bringing back all his friends would be impossible, since Aurora was also his friend, thus dooming them all to the same sequence of events. Since Aurora wasn't truly a person, Pasqualo remade Aurora to take his place in his life. Thus "Pasqualo" can not only be a healthy productive individual but Aurora gets to live again; this also prevents Aurora and Pasqualo existing in the same space which brought about the end times to begin with. Or at least that's how I'll be interpreting it

What a great comic, It has inspired me so much through my webcomic artist journey, I just had to make one final fan art for it.

Even though we started around the same time, I'm still only at the beginning of mine, but this comic will definitely not go forgotten for me.

I related so much to some of the fears/anxieties Pasqualo talked about and he was honestly one of the most painfully relatable characters I've ever read. This ending made me feel so much, but above all else it left me satisfied. Pasq was able to make things better in the end.

On the stream, Josef and Gob decided that she was merely Jennifer-like, not Jennifer. Jennifer was a "failed" or imperfect Pasqualo, which is why she broke down about not being the anomaly.

I don't think she knew before she died and hung out with Satan, though. I think she only knew what the TAC knew before the apocalypse (which again may have been Satan dropping them info because he's bored and it's funny).

Because "Heaven", "Hell", "God" and "Satan" are memes humans believed in for millennia in one way or another. Guess why IH!!-"God" was so impotent as Pasq approached him, he even gave him his penis because he couldn't do shit with it himself.

There was also a fine line between "existence" and "metaphysical existence" post-apocalypse, underlining the dementia of all characters and even the narrative of the comic.
Note all the characters that apparently never existed or claimed not to exist, which is somewhat paradoxical.

You may or may not assume that faith in characters played a major role in whenever something is "real" or not, with the line getting blurrier the further the apocalypse progressed.

Hell, I reread the first half of it today and it took me like ~15-20 minutes between the sleepover scene and the post-talent show callback.
