Just an outsider here but I have seen some pages of this "comic" and I have been wondering, why are there robots in the series?
Like, whats the point or reason?
Seems very odd for a comic dealing with "modern social issues" also having fucking robots around in some pages and shit

Because originally like 10-15 years ago this was a comic about a bunch of faggy hipsters in the FUUUUTURE

And then 5 years ago "le ebin SJWism" became popular among webcomic artists- more so than the quirky liberalism that had existed before- so the comic became a story about SJW fags in the future working at a coffee shop. At least the main character finally fucked the tranny.

So in the early days of the internet, there wasn't actually much content to keep people busy aside from porn.
Webcomics were somewhat reliable as they updated multiple times a week for the most part.
Webcomics in the early days almost always followed the same formula.

Jeph picked talking PCs.
That is all they were in the beginning. Jeph was just following the formula, but doing daily updates.
When most comics died off from either being too much to keep updating (VGcats) or went off the deep end and tried being serious, Jeph maintained the simple formula of daily updates and just stupid light jokes.

Jeph is like a survivor of a plague. All he did was was not die, but because he's the last one standing, he gets to wear the crown.
