While new adventure, beyond, and JLA were all good shows, i still think the original run of the batman series from 1992-1995 was the best.
I don't know how to explain it, it just seems that the show had a more artistic&classical feel. I specially like the title cards in each episode,
they had vary strong old 50's movie feel.

People don't give enough credit to 70's Batman comics that inspired this show and that it lifted entire scripts directly from.
O'Neil, Englehart, David Vern Reed, Frank Robbins, Archie Goodwin, nobody ever mentions most of them anymore in regards to who made Batman who he is today (except O'Neil), but everyone always cites Frank Miller for TDKR, Tim Burton for his movie, and Dini and Timm for TAS.

Anime is generally used to refer to Japanese animation (though, I believe, certain episodes of BTAS were animated by a Japanese studio) or he style it uses.

This. I just read Strange Apparitions recently. That brief run directly inspired two episodes and introduced Boss Thorne (I thought he was a much bigger deal in the comics because of how prominent he was in BTAS)
