I know it would have been an unwise move, seeing as how it is in fact a kid's movie. Kids don't like romance, and hoisting anchor on this ship would have been a bad move.

No like even newer newbies. Grab some other big name actors, or used to be big name actors and actresses, and have them be a new Furious Five and dump a big budget into getting them and pay your animators chicken feed.

Train them in another part of China to be heroes, but each of them have some baggage that they have to deal with with Po's help. Po's Furious Five can putz around in the background and get taken out as the story necessitates.

I don't like the though of Tigress and Po being a couple. I'd rather Po not have any romance in the films at all desu. I feel my dislike for PoXTigress comes from the fact that they've been over shipped to oblivion like nick and judy. Personally I feel it would be better for them to have a more comradery style of relationship where they both care and look out for each other but don't get romantically involved but that's just me. As for the movies I have no clue where they could take Po next after he's become a master of physical kung fu and spiritual chi, there'd be nothing new for him to learn. What they might do however is expand on his relationships with the other furious 5 members because you know... they're basically background support characters at this point. Only Po, Shifu, Tigress and whatever villian of the movie get any real screen time or significant roll.

I actually had a move idea for that.

I think another potential upside is that Po could be faded into the background for at least a good third of the movie. Possibly a full half to return only in the last act to help back the five or something.

Well one possible plot for a movie which I highly doubt will happen but there is a small chance is Tigress becoming the main villian. The reason I say this is because in the KFP tv series (which takes place between kfp 2 and 3), Fenghuang a member of the former furious 5 and re-occurring villian in the show said that ever since the first furious 5 was formed the strongest member of EVERY furious 5 up to her own has ALWAYS become evil or turned again'st their master for whatever reason.

Oh shit, what if the Warlord is like, conquering shit because he thinks he's following in Po's footsteps, what if he's not their enemy at the beginning, he's just causing mass destruction by taking out a bunch of people he deems troublesome or whatever, and it's around the mid or second act that Po tells him he doesn't like what he's doing, so the Warlord thinks Po's gone soft.
