I feel like Moon Knight doesn't have plot armor. Many of his stories have him getting his ass kicked only to come back later and really only succeed because he renews his faith in Khonshu.

But on the other hand he also doesn't run around punching characters with the power level of Darksied or Ghost Rider in the face. So it's more believable when he succeeds.

If Batman used guns Martial Arts comics at DC would had died. Batman was a safeheaven for many martial arts characters and was the introduction for most modern readers to Richard Dragon. O'neil had many contributions to batman but the heavy focus on martial arts was one of the best things, Batman is more without guns that with.

In my opinion it actually works to highlight his madness rather than suddenly give him plot armor. "Oh my god loves me and is great this will totally give me the strength I need to get through this!" Then he does something fucking crazy like crash his plane into a skyscraper where the bad guys are having a meeting or covers himself in bone armor to talk to ghosts.
