With all the variant covers you can stomach!
Neat.
I'll read
Wagner is legit THE best comics writer for The Shadow.
is this like Cooke's The Spirit at all? I love that

Thanks Anon
>>92707663
Fuck yeah, another Shadow storytime.
Thank you for this
>>92707835
I wonder why they abbreviated "through" in the last panel?
>>92707663

I like that this design references the original appearence of The Shadow back when he was just a radio announcer.
Also this threads needs some music

So this Shadow isn't the real Cranston right he's just using his identity as a mask

What evil lurks in your hearts, Anons?
>>92708555
Honestly, I don't mind. So long as there's some form of discussion going on.
>>92708439
>Legacy
I've never once even considered that.
>>92708610
That Lugosi sounds like Legacy, or that The Shadow is a legacy of the vampire archetype? I never considered the latter either, but it fits pretty well so far! Especially those eyes, that piercing gaze is straight Dracula.
>>92708482
>Finocchios
Shaped like Tommy guns, Marshmallows like sticks of dynamite and explosions.
I'd eat that cereal
>>92708643
I feel like it should be obvious because between The Shadow and Batman I can see a direct connection and Batman and Dracula (Lugosi)...maybe that's it. I or we, just aren't of a generation that would directly associate Dracula with that actor really. I don't know but it doesn't matter because the connection and the names double meaning through mispronunciation is all a really neat concept for the story.
>>92707697
Bump, I love the Shadow.
>>92708643
Dracula was one of The Shadow's inspirations. In fact some stories have suggested that The Shadow was immortal.
Walter Gibson, the man who created him, even described The Shadow as a "benign Dracula"
>>92708817
Yeah that was a real smooth way to draw a connection. Props to the writer.
>>92709075
You don't have to be The Shadow to know what I'd do to that.
this is some good shit

>whatareyoudoingevil_takingdirectcontrol.jpg
>>92709204
Shadow's pretty good at making social links.
>>92708020
His Death of Margo Lane series was a bit of a bait and switch, though I still enjoyed it (I'm long past expecting a 'dead' comic character to actually remain dead).
>>92708307
>fug
And that ends the first half of Year One. Hope you've enjoyed it so far.
Thanks, OP.
>>92708456
>Grendel
His crossover with these two characters was fucking incredible.

Immensely, thanks Pulp.
Thanks, OP. This was for the Weird thread.
>>92709822
Thank you!
Bump for good reads.
Another bump, I was interested in this one
bump for others
>>92708020
What is your opinion of Gerard Jones then?
>>92714343
Brilliant!
>>92708557
>that onomatopoeia
Daaaaamn...Is it bad that it reminded me of manga?
So, we're all agreed, then: Chaykin's covers are kinda shit.
>>92718372
Yyyyyyup. He gets the composition okay, but then he draws... well, "faces" is a rather generous term
Give me about an hour and I'll dump the rest.

Also Pulp Anon. I suggest you get a 4chan pass if you haven't got one already. It really does help with the storytiming.
>>92722921
I'm not going to pay a penny, when I can just type the Captcha, while watching Darkwing Duck.
>>92722971
Suit yourself. It's pretty convenient on my end when the wait times are shorter and i don't have to wait on captcha bullshit.
>>92723020
I considered it, but I'm not going take the plunge yet.
