I'm honestly hoping that they're actually saving White Diamond for endgame.

My headcanon for White Diamond (and the reason why she hasn't even been mentioned yet) is that she's basically the Darkseid of the universe. She fucked off from Homeworld ages ago because she thought Blue and Yellow were getting weak and so was Homeworld, so she stole as much resources as she can and went off to build her own super empire on not-Apokolips.

She also has a surplus of soldiers and resources as well as the more rare and powerful types of Gems that neither Blue or Yellow have, such as Emerald.

I always disagree with putting the show into one label. I see the show as constantly having very highs and lows. Instead of just "medicore" I would critique the show at its simplest as "cycling between boring and forgettable to thrilling and exciting."

I love that picture, it reminds me of Halo. WD looks like a prophet with her flowing robe and attached halo, the guards resemble honor guards with their pointed helmets and there staff weapons, and the guard in the back looks a bit like the Didact. I find the old fan interpretation of the gems' civilization as a rigid, caste-based, space theocracy a lot cooler then then the bureaucratic space dmv that they actually seem to function as, however that is juts a matter of preference, and cool things can be done with both.
