So there you have it. Magneto isn't a Nazi, are you happy SJWs?
>>
>>92661046
In-universe reason? They probably needed someone that was both a scientist (Zabo) and able to put anyone that stepped out of line the fuck down (Hyde). Plus, he was part of Zemo's Army of Evil so he was already part of the Hydra family. Gotta allocate your resources where they'll be the most useful.

Out-of-universe reason is so they can have Quake vs. Hyde in Secret Warriors.

Disappointed to see tha Gorgon says nothing for the whole meeting. He's a mutant himself, so you'd think Magneto would say something to him and Gorgon would respond "I am Hydra first and a muant second".

Just because some of it is doesn't mean all of it is. It worked for a little bit until stuff like Soundcloud ate the "social media for musicians" bit of the market up while Facebook and Twitter continued to dominate regular social media. Not much reason for using myspace when no one else is using it. Defeats the point of social media.

I mean, site's still around so clearly someone is using it.
>>
>>92662129
Yep. Kobik was broken up into 8 pieces and scattered across the planet. Of those 8, we know 5 of them are in the control of:
>Namor
>Xorn
>Black Panther
>the Savage Land
>Pymtron
Most of Secret Empire seems like it'll just be about Steve and the Underground fighting over the cosmic cube pieces. The Underground so they can change Steve back to his old self and Steve so he can turn 616 into the Hydraverse.

>>92662275
Not saying you're doing that, but a general problem with storytimes of this run has been that there's always some asshole trying to convince everyone that some scene is a Trump-allegory when it clearly isn't. This clearly is. The Oath had a lot of that. The occasional monologue or comment here and there.

But stuff like, and someone actually tried to claim this, Steve throwing Red Skull out of a window wasn't some antifa call to arms to overthrow Trump via violent means and "clearly calling Trump a nazi." No, it was just Steve Rogers throwing the Red Skull out the window because fuck the Red Skull.

The run isn't devoid of Trump callouts or critiques or just observations, but it's not some big anti-Trump propaganda piece.
>>
>>92662323
It hasn't been said in the comic itself. We know about it because of solicits for future issues. Same with the Savage Land piece. Only ones that have been confirmed in the comic itself so far is Namor/Xorn/T'Challa.

Steve lifting mjolnir happened in the FCBD issue, which was easy to miss if you didn't pick it up on FCBD.
>>
So I'm a tiny bit lost, apparantly another comic shows a different Steve Rogers, so this might not be the real one?
>>
>>92660917
Spencer writes a very convincing demagogue. it shows that he has a background in politics
shame that people got triggered and sales are tanking, because this is easily the best event in years
>>
>>92661137
/pol/ please
>>
>>92662394
This is the real one altered by Kobik's reality warping. The one that showed up at the end of the last issue of Secret Empire is some alt-universe Steve that got stuck in 616. There's been a lot of "alt-universe character gets trapped in 616" as a result of Secret Wars.

But no, the other one isn't the real one. This one is, or isn't, depending on your definition of "real." You could argue that this Steve is no more the real Steve than the other one since he's the Steve from the Hydraverse timeline created by Kobik.
>>
So why is Steve part of Hydra ?
>>
>>92661127
So what's the point of this, because Red Skull grafted a chunk of Xavier's brain onto his own?
>>

>>92661127
Call me crazy... But I think it would take a lot more than some old Nazi's head to make Erik subservient to a fascist regime openly operating concentration camps...
>>
>>92662539
Hydra used a cosmic cube to rewrite reality so Steve was a Hydra agent since youth.

I don't know if the "nazis won world war 2 then cosmic cube reboot" thing is a lie or not though.
>>
>>92662597
Nice. Now he's the übermensch he always was meant to be
>>
>>92661404

Wow, you are so smart anon!
>>
>>92661152
Considering he thinks they actually used a cosmic cube to literally change what actually happened i don't know why he's acting like the media has been lying to people when they've been completely truthful...
>>
>>92662597
>I don't know if the "nazis won world war 2 then cosmic cube reboot" thing is a lie or not though.
In the "Hydra" timeline that the cosmic cube created and this Steve is from had it end with a cosmic cube being used to turn the Hydra timeline back to 616. That's why from Steve's perspective, THIS is the fake universe created by reality warping while his is the "real" one. He's wrong, but because of how things played out in the Hydra timeline, it's impossible to prove that to him.

But the Allies turned the hydra timeline back into 616 before the war was over, so "the nazis won WWII" isn't actually true. The war wasn't over and even in the hydra timeline, the allies might have won the war even without the cosmic cube.
>>

I'm not that anon, but dictators tend to all use the same playbook. Trump is merely stupider than the usual person in this role.

There's also blaming "aliens/minorities" that are actually citizens as foreign/threats/ills while ignoring another set of aliens minorities that he's actually a part of. (Mutants and inhumans are bad but Superhumans like himself , the Avengers that are on his side, and Nazi genetic experiments are all fine.)

The giant wall (which makes more sense in this context although I can't tell if he flopped the parallel or not.) It's simultaneously a good parallel and a bad one. It's a bad one in that it's a fucking awesome idea in general to have a planetary shield and it's difficult to sympathize with the chitauri when they are unequivocally bad guys at everything with no derivation from their lack of a moral stance ever shown out of trillions. It's a good parallel in that the chitauri are supposed to be the syrian refugees in retrospect. The chitauri and the refugees are alike in that they're both problems caused by attacking their native lands in the first place and their resulting reaction is not only reasonable but almost entirely the fault of the politicians/groups abusing their plight for political purposes.
We saw las Vegas the "sanctuary city" get taken out for having compassion.

Hydracap is also inclined towards quite a few of the unconstitutional things that Trump has expressed wanting to do like silencing the press.
Once again I must point out that NOTHING we are seeing in RL or in this comic is really new. It is a centuries old pattern that everyone should have been taught about in middle or high school.
Hydracap is Trump-like and while it's presumably on purpose by the writer he is going to be like Trump simply via virtue of being an actual dictator.
Trump is technically not a dictator yet but he has expressed the opinions/objectives and used warning actions of one repeatedly. He fits the superficial mindset.
>>

Marvel wants to make the Inhumans martyrs/the cavalry to "save" America, as far the return of Black Bolt and Medusa being what saves the day ultimately, against Hydra and allowing the heroes to do whatever it is they do to "fix" Steve.

As for mutants, Steve just wants them out of his hair.

Ironically, they miss a huge fucking point in this issue to just have Steve point blank call out the murder cloud, people being turned into deformed freaks, and people being forced against their will to serve as Medusa and Black Bolt's bitch slaves as justification for putting them in death camps.

He quasi recovered with the Speedball mini he did after Civil War (Marvel rushed it into production to fix what was done to the character, when Ellis turned out to be a lazy fuck and couldn't do a years worth of Thunderbolt comics on time). The Speedball mini took a huge fucking shit all over everyone tat mistreated and scapegoated him and ended with the retcon that the Penance suit was actually meant for Nitro (who was horribly mutilated when Norman found him in Robbie's Penance outfit).

But he also threw a huge fucking shit fit when Slott did his own payback towards Sally in the Initiative and bascially forced Marvel to temporarily ban other writers from writing her/forcing Slott to promise to leave Sally alone in exchange for her being allowed to use her in BND Spider-Man

You must be a late 90s baby.

Bill (and Hillary) were basically JFK/Jackie 2.0; they represented a huge fucking generational shift in our world leaders, from old men to young men.

Bill, like JFK, was young and virile (his sex scandals gave him an aura of a big guy who liked to fuck and could get any woman he wanted) and like JFK, hip and "with it" when it came to the younger generation of voters who voted him into the Presidency.

Hillary, while a raging feminazi, was the first First Lady since Jackie who was not someone's grandmother and her "partnership" with Bill mirrored how Jackie and JFK were considered a packaged deal in terms of being joined at the hip. She was, like Jackie, a first lady women could emulate in terms of ambition, if not style.

>>92679153
That's not true. In the 00s there was a good deal of Clinton nostalgia, but that was pretty much dead by 2008.

Hillary banked HEAVILY on the Clinton nostalgia in 2008 but her Iraq war vote in 2003 had basically rendered her radioactive to the left.

It was one of the reasons why Obama was able to rise as fast as he did to be her rival, as Obama presented an alternative to Hillary for those on the left already grumbling about how they were going to have to hold their nose and vote for her. Especially after Edwards crashed and burned like he did in late 2007, as far as removing him from contention.

By the time 2016 arrived, the Clinton nostalgia train was pretty much dead. The rose colored lenses came off and lot of harsh truths had to be dealt with in terms of how bad the 90s were under Clinton. Along with Hillary/Bill's habit of engaging in scandals due to their short sighted egomania and narcissism.
>>
>>92679668
I didn't think of it tat way. But the Clintons were still powerful by 2016, right?

>>
>>92678493
Well it was the message the conveyed whether they wanted to or not.
>>
>>92679719
They are still powerful, but mainly because Hillary was threatening to burn the entire Democrat Party down in 2008/kill Obama in cold blood, if the Clintons were not given ownership of the DNC and allowed to purge the ranks of anyone who was disloyal and basically make the ONLY mission of the DNC, was to make sure Hillary was able to waltz her way to the nomination in 2016. Even if it meant allowing the Republicans to win back control over Congress, in terms of throwing out the 50 state strategy that got Obama a super majority in Congress.

Indeed Obama had to leave Washington, after making a huge stink about staying in the city to run the DNC and fight Trump only to find that the Clintons controlled everything and being forced to flee town in humiliation at the fact that he's going to be reduced to Jimmy Carter pariah status, so long as both Clintons are alive and refusing to abdicate the throne.

>>
>>92680616
It won't be as extreme as Secret Wars or CWII since every issue seems like it's going to be from a different artist.
>>
>>92679908
More like Obama was a huge fucking blank slate (literally only been in politics a super short time and didn't have much of a laundry list of bad Senate votes) and the fact that Obama knew how to exploit the Dems desperate need for new blood that didn't preach an anti-life equation of "preserve the status quo, wage war, and don't think you can change the world!".

There was a reason why Obama latched onto the "Hope and Change" meme as his campaign's catch phrase.
>>
>>92678424
WHY DO YOU KEEP POSTING THIS
>>
>>92680616
There won't be delays.

Secret Empire has like 3-5 different artists drawing it. And with recent upcoming issues, they've rearranged who was drawing certain issues (IIRC #3-6) for the purpose of jetisoning the artists that are not meeting their deadlines, in favor of artists that COULD make the deadlines, so the thing comes out on time so they can get it over with.

And given that they greenlighted an extra issue, they are clearly panicking like crazy in terms of fearing that the storyline will end badly and that they won't be able to cash the check they offered when they told everyone "Cap saves the day, he gets redeemed and shit!!!".
>>
>>92660939
I thought Norman Osborn told Sentry to throw her into the sun.

Are you telling me she pissed off the Green Goblin at the peak of his power and lived? Or did that not happen because of the secret wars reboot?
>>
>>92680656
Marvel basically has written off summer sales-wise. Secret Empire might still turn a profit, but it's basically an event that won't have any real life in the TPB/HC market except for people who like shitty stories for ironic value (see Crossing).
>>
>>92679504

>>
>>92681047

Hydra only sided with Nazi Germany because they thought they would win the war.

Also, Cap isn't a president, he was appointed a dictator so he could have absolute power to fight the threats. You can't impeach him like you would Trump, because that's the gamble you make when you appoint someone a dictator. In Ancient Rome it was actually pretty common to appoint a dictator when there was an enemy at the gate (although that usually didn't work out either, just look at Sulla and Caesar).
