Why are most Nicktoons episodic?
Aside from Danny Phantom, Avatar/Korra, As Told By Ginger and The Wild Thornberrys (Season 5)
I ever understood the appeal of The Loud House, it's pretty mediocre and forgettable

Nickelodeon hates plot driven cartoons

Yeah I've heard people claim this as the Adventure Time of Nickelodeon
Because they believe that kids only want to see shows with wacky characters in endless situations with no plot

Whether you like it or not you cannot deny that The Loud House saved Nickelodeon, it's one of their most popular shows to date and saved them from going through an even darker path, similar to what Adventure Time did for Cartoon Network.

I think people are just happy to have any show on Nick other than The Sponge.

I think you're in the wrong dimension. This is the one where SpongeBob exists.

Its so when people tune in, they feel like they can just enjoy the episode with out any prior knowledge. The intro or the show itself can tell all the backstory the audience needs to know
Episodic format makes it easier to produce, and audiences can tune in at anytime without having to watch the last few episodes
