This, he's shown as a hardliner who is mentally ill. Rorschach is a character who's only likeable trait is that he doesn't give up on what he believes in and it's why he died.

We see his obstinance even in the face of powerful people like Adrian and Jon early on in the comic, so that's one indication he's just like that regardless of the situation.
On the other hand after working up Dan, and debatably everyone else but Laurie and Jon sort of show up after the fact regardless of earlier warning, into seeing his point he likely felt they'd come past the point of doubt, indifference and compromise facing the truth and felt they'd side with him or at least make their stand against Adrian.
When that turned out not to be the case he likely just had it with them after all he'd gone through to save their asses.

Also technically he already did leak what he knew as a precaution. Yes he sent it to a questionable print, but the point is he was already thinking ahead while everyone else was just coming to terms.

If Rorschach suddenly turned heel, and acted like he didn't care that Ozymandias had done something unforgivably against Rorschachs entire notion of justice, Ozymandias would've just told Jon to kill him anyway, and Jon would agree.

I think he was also hoping someone would take his side too. He was alone though. When masks were outlawd, everyone quit but him. When the world was to be at "peace" with a lie everyone quit but him. No one has his conviction.

I figured it was more like, he knew that undoing what Veidt did would cause more problems than not but he was so rigid in his beliefs that he couldn't bear to live in a world where he has to be complicit in upholding a lie, so he chose to die instead. It's not like he ever expected to beat Dr. Manhattan and walk out of there.

Killing him like he did may well have been the kindest option, and even then, Doc hesitated. Can you see the ginger manlet accepting anything else, really?

One anon recomennded taking him somewhere inescapable, not hard given at heart he is nothing but a man, and just having a duplicate keep an eye on him. But sterile jail or paradise, it wasn't in his mindset to ever, ever let it go. Even if he never escaped, the rest of his life would have been cruel torment.

A quick death, enraged but confident in his beliefs, was the best ending to his story.

rorschach spends the entire book telling everyone how great and black and white he is. specifically, he lists one of his idols as truman.

however when it really comes down to the wire, he can't handle the sheer amount of death and destruction that ozy created. whilst he believes that what ozy did was "correct" in the black/white sense that it would stop the war (and so objectively is the morally righteous decision), he thought that killing all those people wasn't worth it

simply put, he knew that he was wrong the entire time about his black and white morality and so he committed suicide by manhattan because whilst he knew adrian was correct, he still wanted justice for those who were senselessly killed - he wanted a compromise

and he couldn't compromise, not even in the face of armageddon

Perhaps in the end Rorschach new that Oz' way was the only way the world wasnt going to end up fucked, he knew Dr. Manhattan was going to kill him before he could do anything but his conviction (and probably his mental illness) wouldnt allow him to live in a world like that.
Then again, the public perception of Rorschach was the he was insane so i doubt anybody would've believed anything he said.
