Shows like this don't come by often enough.

It still surprises me sometimes that a show like this got made. I wish more cartoons were as creative and diverse as this.

Much as I like it I feel like there's plenty of shows around like AT. At least a couple of the recent ones strike similar chords with me.

It almost didn't. Fred Seibert (or Rob Scorcher, forget who exactly) has said a few times over the years how when he was first shown AT it seemed so weird and out there compared to their usual shows that they almost didn't take Ward up on it, but somehow it slipped in anyway and the rest is history.
AT was something special. The magic that made it great seems to have dissipated already though.

I definitely feel this but still enjoy what the later seasons are doing most of the time.
OP actually posted a pretty strong example of the type of magic I associate with the show

Immensely charming and loving without coming off as sappy, and the music and wording of the speech really make me feel some things.
"To celebrate the day where Finn and Jake had a fleeting moment of empathy for the biggest weirdo in Ooo. It was a miracle. Goodnight." is such lovely wording.
NEVER FORGET those 2010 promos
people called me crazy when i said it would be big.

Those initial ones were atrocious though
WHAT TIME IS IT WHAT TIME IS IT WHAT TIME IS IT

GOD TIER FUCKING PROMO I WILL ADD
>>92628183
yea some of them were pretty fucking cringeworthy looking back
When the show first started, I kinda thought it was going to be something based on the LoZ
>>92627260
crap?
i see crap everywhere?
>>92628247
first season took some cues from it while it had that whole DnD feel
>>92627260
Yeah, shows about the character being a complete cuck don't come often.
How did they get away with this?

Thanks to plagiarism being a thing, they sadly do. Even back in the first season I though AT was highly overrated.
