The ending of Dofus the movie was one of the most retarded things I've experienced in a long while. The whole tragic scene before the final scene where everyone sacrifices himself is wasted because everyone is revived and le happy ending. It could have been a perfect set-up for showing why Joris became so serious in Wakfu which happens later - because all his friends died like that.

I disagree, in the context of the movie (which you have to take into consideration) it worked perfectly. The whole movie was about Joris and his family. It was to show that Joris was willing to end it all (his life included)
to break the Ebony Dofus and save the day.
They knew that at the very least by smashing the Ebony Dofus with the Ivory Dofus they'd stop the whole process. They didn't know it would necessarily reverse it.

Further, it became predacated on the fact that Joris became the Guardian of the two Dofus. He lost both of his parents and now has to raise his foster dad. Him making the promise to protect the Dofus eggs in the hopes that the Ebony Dragon would release the souls. Since the process wasn't truly completed, all to right a wrong.

Its a character driven story, not a lore/world driven one and in that context it works. Plus Joris has to put to rest his childlike wonderment of him imagining his parents were super stars of some sort. He knows who his parents are, and now he has a new family that will support him. He is having to give up much of his childish life much sooner. As he'll have to not only be a Guardian to dragons, but to a house while operating in his foster dad's stead.
Joris is being thrust from his innocence and childhood into the adult world of responsibility and accountability. At a point that Kerubim would certainly have wished to keep from Joris for a little while longer.

Season 1 was a mess that turned out to be surprisingly okay, because of a few episodes of development for one character.

Season 2 was a clusterfuck that hurriedly tried to capture the same lightning in a bottle, but fucked everything up.

The OVAs... well.

I can't imagine season 3 being much better. Dofus was always the better written of the two. Wakfu's writers just aren't particularly great.

I meant that the process to revive Jahash wasn't completed. Kinda hard to release the souls of people when they're used up in resurrecting someone. The process wasn't fully finished, as such the souls were in limbo. However the souls didn't immediately go back to everyone until Joris had the short heart to heart with the Ebony Dragon.

Ever since they pulled Tristepin out of the dead I stopped glorifying this show as a masterpiece. First season was top-notch in my young, starry eyes, but second season felt like it had a LOT of executive meddling (or just outright pandering).
The battle between all those armies against the ultra demon guy was amazing, but the main plot about the Eliatropes was boring as hell, I don't even fully remember how it ended because it was that bland.

Not satisfied with coming back, Pinpin goes and makes babies. Season 3 will be insufferably character-centric and the Tristepin family will hog screentime like there's not tomorrow, that much I can tell.

At this point I really hope the original guys who made season 1 still have some leverage to edge in a good plot, given all the obligatory fanservice they'll have to put this season to accommodate everything that happened over season 2.
