Yea, it was already stated that the antispirals WERE once spirals that pretty much got taken over by the power given to them by spiral energy. Simon can't go down that path, it's established that it is a slippery slope because they literally just defeated an enemy that straight up as a glimpse into their future if they abuse the power.

Bringing back the dead opens a can of worms that can't be closed. What's to stop him from bringing Kamina back, by that point? Or Kittan? Or Lord Genome? Wouldn't he be selfish by that point? He can't bring back everyone else's loved ones. Everyone else has to deal with the death of those they care about. He can't use his powers to solve all of his issues, because he will be consumed by it.

It isn't an asspull because it's already given to you in the series, and it makes sense. He used his powers to save the universe and reclaim the planet. That's it, that's the end of what he'll use them for. It's why he becomes a nameless hobo in the end and straight up says he's a nobody when the kid asks him who he is.

I don't like the fact that they added a character literally just to make us feel sad, or the fact that the final battle took less than a few seconds. Way too little conflict, 90% of this could of been solved if they just didn't have Ashi. So much more time for the final fight, or they could of just deleted episode nine and split this into two different parts and actually dove into Jack conscience and make him question if killing Aku was really worth living without his love, I feel like they could of gone fairly in depth with that.

Maybe, but it might be that he created a timeline where Aku never conquered the future, but the original one where he did is still there. In that case, from the Scottsman and everyone's point of view, Jack grabbed the one weapon that could hurt Aku, and the one person who could fight him toe-to-toe, and fucked off, never to be seen again, leaving Aku to rule unopposed for eternity.

It's about living for the people around you, who know and love you already, versus living for the already-dead.

They could've given him a near-death experience in his climactic battle against Future Aku sorry I mean Ashi, where he meets his ancestors. Maybe his parents are there, and they tell him that all the people of the past are cheering him on -- and that he should live for the sake of those around him, not for ghosts who died long ago.

Now you have bittersweet closure for Jack's family and the people of the past, AND you get to save the characters that the audience cares about. Win-win.
