I have 0 problem with Star reuniting with Marco early on or more Earth episodes, since I think both those things are a given.

But I think having the next season(s?) mostly on Mewni is a great decision, since they've done about as much with Earth as they can and it only makes sense to have more extradimensional episodes as the plot becomes more prominent. It'd also be a nice split, to have the first 2 on Earth and the last 2 on Mewni. They can still come back to Earth every so often, but I hope the ratio of Earth:Mewni episodes is now the reverse of what it used to be.

Just seems a shame to throw away a pretty bold move like that, and also seems to cut down a bit on the worldbuilding possibilities because I love that dumb shit

Hmmm I'm actually having trouble coming up with a new "Just Friends Just touching".
There are only so many intimate things you can do with someone, without kissing or sex.
The idea behind "JFJT" came about back when Star Cuckposting was in full effect. And everyone was saying that Star and Marco will forever stay "Just Friends".
So I figured, what does it matter that they're just friends? They live under the same roof, they're curious teenagers, they're closer than literally anyone else in the show.
So much so that Star waits for Marco to be done showering in the same room and Marco doesn't mind it until other people get involved.
Problem is, two or three explorations later you're already fully aware of all you need to know and it's not curiosity that keeps you coming back.
I've been in a similar kind of relationship and the curiosity went way beyond just touching for sure.
But in this case, I've got a bit of a theme going with some restrictions. Which is what makes it fun and interesting.
I could just draw the 7 millionth Starco smut but that's boring. And I keep kissing out as well, out of respect for the whole Jarco thing.
At the very least until Starco is either confirmed or denied. I'm wondering whether or not I should remove those limitations.
But then, where's the fun in that? It's the heartboners that count.

And as I've written all this, I've already come up with a new "JFJT". But I suppose I'll post my stream of consciousness here for entertainment and maybe discussion purposes?
As an aside this whole thing is also why I like Amidst Amigos so much. Area's got a very special way showing two teenagers exploring for the first time.
Even if things now are moving too fast for it to just be considered exploration. You can't break that many barriers that quickly without strong love.
Or unless one or both of the teens are particularly curious and impatient. In Area's case, it feels like Star. She likes taking charge where she can and pushing Marco for more.

Tumblr auto-downscales all images so that the width is at most 1280 pixels and the height is at most 1920 pixels. So most images have their quality degraded.

4chan doesn't resize, but images are limited to 2-4MB (exact limit depending on board). Even if that's too small, artists can just link to image hosts like Imgur or file hosts like mixtape or catbox in their post text.

Technically artists could have done the same thing with Tumblr (linking to external image hosts), but they typically don't since Tumblr will auto-downscales anyway.

I had a dream where I watched the first episode of season 3.
In short, beautiful blonde boys from another dimension appeared out of portals, gleefully sang some gibberish, many girls (including Janna and Star) sang that too as they got hypnotized, jumped into the guys' arms and disappeared with them into the portals.
All within 20 seconds or so.
Almost the rest of the episode was a song scene in wich the girls, alseep, were laid carefully from above into doll dresses hanging on a clothesline (nothing lewd, they were traditional, old-timey doll dresses).The song was Master of Puppets, except the lyrics were changed to describe how evel wwere the guys, except again the song really just showed them doing good things. Then I woke up.

not like every symbol is going to get a full explanation but this show does tend to reuse particular motifs more consistently than even gets noticed, considering a lot of them aren't even recognized in dialogue. probably an art/creative director told the artists who worked on the scenes some of the symbols to incorporate

Wait, here's a thought. What if the monster that Eclipsa married is "The Big Guy" that rules the underworld and is Toms father? He's pretty damn big, looking at Eclipsas tapestry. 4 eyes + 2 eyes averages out to 3 eyed progeny. Tom and that guy both have horns and like identically shaped ears, even both have fanged teeth.

Also the Blood Moon seems to be something the underworld knows a bunch about, which might make some sense considering the moon is a major part of Eclipsas whole theme.

Personally I just trust the FUCK out of Nefcy. She's already proven to be more than capable writer, in my mind at least. And as an added bonus, she feels personally connected to the Star Vs. story and isn't likely to ruin it for both herself and the fans.

Samurai Jack was based on Gendy's fantasy of fighting zombies and monsters in an apocalyptic wasteland Mad Max style using a katana while riding a motorcycle with his hot bitchin' girlfriend. Star vs. was based on the overflowing 90s and early null's magical girl shows. Also, both of them self-insert as their respective show's protagonist.

The difference between Samurai Jack and Star vs. is that Gendy views Jack as not being capable of doing anything wrong, so when an instance of him suffering does come up, we don't feel any sympathy for him because he's become a messianic character, since endy gave him all of the "cool" qualities a pleb shounen protagonist would have. We are bored with his references and find his parodies hackneyed. Samurai Jack only made me feel, and I mean REALLY feel, in one instance, and that was the Viking warrior being chosen by the valkyries to get to Valhalla. Sure, the show has excellent choreography, great art style experimentation, and strong sound direction, but it has no story. It tried to force a narrative that the show never had in the first place, and it failed.

Meanwhile, Daron gave Star not just hyper manic pixie "lolsorandumxD" aspects, but gave her all of the faults, fears, and flaws that she, and the majority of girls like her, had when they were teenagers. We can form an emotional attachment to Star because she has real qualities about her that pretty much everyone can associate with, and not just Star, but the whole cast of characters brought along on this wild ride. I actually hurt when they had Freeze Day and Marco saw how all the years had gone by without him talking to Jackie, because I made that same mistake.

That's why I trust Daron with what she's doing. Both she and Gendy created shows based on fanfiction, but at least she had the decency to continually filter out all the unnecessary, unappealing garbage.
