Not a remake, he means seasons 3 and 4 of Dexter. They came out a couple years after the original seasons of Dexter ended with Ego Trip, because CN wanted money, and were done by new people. Chris Savino most prominently. i think only some voices were different, like very few if any. They were done in flash, and weren't honestly that bad, but they also weren't really as good as the earlier stuff either. I blame the quality drop mostly on CN clearly wanting it to be quick and dirty for more cash. It still lasted 2 seasons, though. And is regarded as Dexter season 3 and 4, rather than a new series all together.

I'm a big fan of John K's theories but looking at this, I think perhaps not every show is suited the unique/extreme facial expressions thing. PPG worked just fine with the simple expressions they had.

This is an issue in media in general. Artists, producers and whatnot see that the costumers only care about progressiveness for the sake of progressiveness, so they feel free to produce lazy content because they know the audiences will eat it up.

It fails from time to time, and it's usually a wake-up call for the fans of a certain thing to realize the trend is going too far. However, overall we've still got a few years before everyone tires of the pseudo-progressive bullshit and content producers are finally forced to use something else for good.

A bit off-topic, but I'm waiting for the nuPPG of YA books so finally writers stop publishing shit(tier) novels. I'm tired of people telling me I should accept garbage because it "caters" to me.
