I was discussing what was still needed in my initial idea to finish this issue with a friend with a big fight to reveal Vex city's new hometown hero. My friend suggested maybe splitting the origin to two issues, one ending around where RR is born the at the end I initially wanted, to make room for both more acts of heroism as well as to get the satisfaction of a script being finished sooner rather than later. Thoughts?

I have contributed plenty, albeit mostly as anon or under different names. Well, this thread took a bitter turn with just one reply to my post on wondering if the thread would be slow.

What I'm hoping for in this thread is a chance to come up with more scenes I think would be cool with those three characters.
For some reason the idea behind Trine really resonates with me. Maybe it's because it's isolated from all of the other stuff in the setting, but has a reason for it.

Honestly, I feel I could probably be just as interested in any other character we have if the focus is on THEIR story without worrying about how it can fit into everything else.

But I can only seem to really get into it when the original idea guy is around. Feels like I have a positive feedback loop going with him.

The scene I'd next like to put some thought into would either be one before Theta arrives where maybe some kids want an autograph from Archenemy (like the kid who knelt before Darth Vader in that performance because they wanted to side with him) or maybe the scene when Theta first makes herself known.
Figuring out what her entrance would be, maybe as a sniper? Maybe taking out a robot? The problems of improv performance would arise for JD and Wells.

I have ssen more and more pre-made characters dumped into these things, and the person who added them freaks out if the community tries to change or improve on them in anyway (e.g. the photographer character). Then you have the tumblr artists just changing shit on a whim with zero input from anyone else and their fanboys defending it endless (e.g. /co/llette's redisgn, the attempted redisgn of Windbreaker), and the forcing out of things when they don't get their way (e.g. Windbreaker).

Some anon asked me to RP to a Harry Potter theme a few months back like it was 2007 again. Yeah, his costume should look a bit more campy.

From what I understand, JD and Wells are more 1960s like action Batman and Robin with Theta being more like modern day Punisher (or 1980s Punisher), aesthetically anyway.

The costumes they have should be less about making sense and more about being cool and distinct, whereas Theta's is more grounded in "reality". It doesn't stop the costumes from doing whatever we need them to do though.

With speed geared characters (I know, he's not actually moving super fast), I guess the fewer things they have hanging off of them the better.

Trench coats scream SPY to me. Secret agents, big radio brief cases, cars that turn into boats, That Darn Cat FBI agents, that sort of look the Cold War media popularized.

So Wells has the coat for a cape, we're debating what he has on his head, a thing over his mouth, is more muscular I think, and I doubt he's rich.

He must get his materials from somewhere. Maybe he made a matter forge using the shards.

We need to isolate the viability of the shards to JD's armglove since that's his bestowed characteristic.
We need to explore Wells' cunning genius more rather than solely relying on the alien tech he's researching to further his characterization is what I think.

Maybe he hides out in an abandoned junkyard whom he has covertly converted into his base (Invader Zim style)

Wells is very asocial and not a paragon of morality like JD (this serves as a similarity to Theta but a contrast to his best friend since many of their traits align and diverge with one another) so maybe he diverts illegal shipments from criminals to fuel his heroic fantasies with JD.
