I'd want the episode where Jack gets his sword back to be a two parter, so we could get a slower closure on Ashi killing her mom and I'd extend the scene of Jack being confronted by the gods. It just felt rushed being a single ep.
Episode 8 should've ended right before the kiss, but the love song would still play in the credits. Episode 9 would open with them kissing.
Also I'd make episode 10 a two-parter. But I'll have to see what the final episode has in store to decide that.

personally, my definition of a happy ending given the shows logic, is that jack cannot return to the past, but with akus death in the future, it retroactively cleanses the past, even if jack cannot return he at least knows that the people in the past are safe and well, like if aku never invaded at all.

This season felt rushed and sloppy. Four seasons of wandering samurai then trying to cram all that lore with new characters and trying to finish the story in a single arc format which was never done before in this show with only 10 episodes was not a wise choice. I don't even think 13 episodes would fare much better.

A lot of the stuff in trailers was either the best stuff or just lies just to get us interested. I wanted to see a bad mother fucker in the last of his days coping with his insanity and coming to grips with his life and his failures. I wanted to see a Jack so desperate to kill Aku that he waits in Akus toilet bowl waiting for him to be at his most vulnerable to strike. As Aku lays out an extra thicc shit we see Jack plunge into the deepest nastiest part of Akus asshole where Jack finds his father. We got a little bit of this for the first 3 episodes then around episode 5 Genndy just said fuck it I'm gonna bypass all this character development. Most of this show has been fortune cookie nonsense. Oh well, at least the show got an ending. 5/10 because only half the episodes are good.

It barely had any robot gore outside the first episode. It feels like the electronic guy in episode 5 was a missed opportunity too.
There wasn't any filler unlike the previous seasons and while others would say that it's a good thing, the previous ones barely had any story connections and were just filler for the most part unlike this season which makes it feel like a typical anime or TV show.

I don't give a shit about Ashii, although they could improve her fight choreography. Srsly her, pilethrowing whole Ork army might be canon but just looked silly and lazy.
Same thing with notSpartans and Scotsman attacking Aku's fortress. I know Aku is the shogun of destruction n'shieet, but they could throw some cannon fodder like bugbots so we could see more satisfying clash of armies.

I like ashi as a character. I kind of think she could have been better handled but I find her kind of interesting and I like her interaction with jack, though I do think they could have built the relationship aspect a lot better since up until the kissing episode they don't really hint at any romantic implications so it feels like they're more friends or mentor and teacher up until that point. If they kill her off though that would ruin a chunk of her character though since that would make it feel a lot less like she's a character and more like a plot device for jack to feel something since she already kind of borders on that a bit much. Jack still needs to be the one to kill aku though since that is mboth one of his end goals and there's symbolicness to him killing the literal demons that got him in this mess in the first place.

This season started off strong but turned to straight trash after episode 3. Here's what should have happened:

>Jack has given up looking for portal and is instead constantly on the run, cold, tired, hungry, hopeless
>realizes his only purpose in life now is to confront Aku headon
>decided he needs an army
>spends several episodes meeting with old friends who are the few to have avoided succumbing to Aku, such as Scotsman, Archers, Spartans, etc. and helping them out and recruiting them (instead of completely pointless nostalgia pandering like we have now)
>takes his Seven Samurai style Army to Akus fortress
>little does he know Aku has been awaiting him and gathered his own army
>some old like Demongo and some new like Scaramouche
>Episode 9: epic battle between allies and heroes, enough to get to know them and see them in various fights
