I was hoping they would have phases of Avengers line ups. Like once peoples contracts expired they'd make other Avenger team members movies. Like you get the founding team then slowly rotate in characters like Wonder Man and Cheetah as the people that played Cap and Iron Man got tired of it. Then after a few years you could just hire new actors and reintroduce them once people had enough time time to forget about Downey and Evans. So you'd end up with a team after Infinity War that would be BP, Strange, Captain Marvel, and Ant-Man. Maybe Wanda and Vision if they still want to stick around.

But yea, why not just reintroduce the same branding/name recognition shit that already exists in comics.

You'll notice that all of them had good stories written about them that went beyond quips, social justice talking points and calling the reader stupid for liking the original versions. The Williams-drawn Batwoman books were well-written, not to mention stylish as shit. They also took care of establishing her own mythology that's similar enough to Batman's to feel intrinsically "Gotham" but different enough that she isn't stepping on any toes. Take her sister for example - she's obviously her Joker but it's different from the Batman-Joker relationship because they're sisters, which is a new take on that particular hero-villain dynamic.

Chinese Superman is also very much his own character even though they literally copied his supporting cast from that of Superman - but the whole thing is lampshaded and often played for laughs. The narrative doesn't expect you to be blown away by Keenan's awesomeness; instead, it gives him genuine character development and makes him work for the reader's affection. Like any character worth their salt, he is challenged by the story and has to overcome his own flaws which makes everything he achieves feel fully merited and deserved.

Marvel's approach is "holy menstruation Batman, this brand new character is the best thing since sliced bread and everyone loves them! If you don't love our new product, you're stupid!"
