Honestly I don't know about this. Tomasi's Clark is the weakest part of things because honestly it doesn't seem like he understands Superman at all. Writing a story with him without the family is probably going to be rough even with cowriters helping.

I would like a place for normal Superman solo stories, but it needs to be by someone else.

Shot in the dark?

Jon: Dad! Guess what? Damian and I are dating now!
>>
>>92509946
Yeah, some people fear one of the most powerful man in the world, color me surprised.

Guy Gardner wore Sinestro's rings for years during his JLI days. He wasn't corrupted.
>>
>>92509985

Yeah, so why Superman again?
>>
>>92509955
Isn't he a little too much like the Amazo Super Sons Army threat?
>>
>>92510004
He is either scaring bad guys or is afraid of nothing.
>>
>>92509999

He was an hateful asshole, though. Pretty much an anti-hero/anti-villain.

Jorge Jimenez is so good. Especially for teen characters.

>>
>>92509392

>sinestro

He's dead, though.
>>
>>92510039
He still wasn't corrupted, and that's the important part here.

Yellow Lantern Gardner was pretty much Green Lantern Gardner with another ring. So was Hal or Soranik. This is not the ring of Sauron.

To lose his family and friends.
>>
>>92510095

Hal kinda lost his shit for a moment and Soranik was yes being corrupted by her father.

Honestly, Soranik being a Yellow Lantern or her relationship with her father in Sinestro solo made no fucking sense. She came off as a weak-willed fool with daddy issues when before she was nothing like that.
>>
>>92509726
>>92509882
Guys it's a fucking comic book cover. He might not even wear the ring. But Lex Luthor's fear alone is probably enough to qualify him.
>>
>>92510118

Nobody should fear Superman, though. He certainly shouldn't wear the colors of the enemy.
>>
>>92509650
>What is s**t, and why is everyone eating it?

Because mellenials have a lower standard when it comes to movies

>>92510021
Probably, though I guess we'll have to see how it plays.
>>
>>92510158
>Nobody should fear Superman
Tell that to Lex and Batman. I'm sure there are others. Fear isn't always rational.
>>
>>92510158
Why shouldn't villains fear him?

And Sinestro Corps have done some good. They are not fully the enemy. You are being really dumb here.
>>
>>92510134

>It is a remarkable dichotomy. In many ways, Clark is the most human of us all. Then… he shoots fire from the skies and it its difficult not to think of him as a god. And how fortunate we all are that it does not occur to him.
He keeps Kryptonite weapons just in case. You're fooling yourself if you think Bruce isn't slightly terrified of Clark.

Superman Adventures by Millar is my favorite Superman characterization.
>>
>>92512495
And what did Millar's Superman had different? He is pretty much all around a nice guy.
>>
>>92512430
Tomasi was the one personally handpicked by him to succeed him on B&R and probably the person he trusted the most at DC . He certainly knew that was in the cards.

Really can't agree. He seems like a Superman who's become a dad. People grow up a lot when they have a kid.

Though maybe the lack of charm you're feeling is DC reacting too extremely to the perceived "edginess" of New 52 Superman?
>>
>>92513190
Pak made me like Clark X Lana so much that it kinda hurts they will never let them be more than friends.
>>
>>92513834
If I ever get to write Superman I would bring back Superbro and make him and Lana or Lee a couple.

And of course, going all arround the world or space helping people, not staying at one place, like a travelling hero.
>>
>>92513551
I think you're making too many excuses. Tomasi wrote Superbro without charm as well. He just doesn't get it. Has nothing to do with DC or the family.

This should have been the romance they played around with if they didn't want him with Lois right away. WW was a mistake.

Tomasi's Superbro was waaaay worse. He seemed to be constantly pissed off. Sure, it was the SM/WW where WW was a huge cunt, so that's understandably, but it was weird to see Superbro with a constant frown and respond everyone with curt words.

Glad they're being able to finish their story, but it really dropped off after the first 12 issues so I'm not crying that it's cancelled. Decent length for a run.
>>
>>92512130
I liked the first issue though.

>>92510230
Makes sense considering Shade hasn't had anyone to interact with in her trips and the gotham issue was just one long internal monologue apart from when we went back to Meta for a bit.

Trying to lure Batdrones who'll buy anything Gotham-related.

The Shade solicits have never made it sound especially good, despite the quality of the actual comic. Before the release of the Young Animal line, Shade was the one that sounded the least interesting, but now it's the only YA book I'm still buying in single issues.
>>
>>92513190
That arc ended on a nice note, Superman beating the monster by letting himself get tentacle raped and experience his worst fears until it was full and couldn't eat anymore and just went back to sleep.

>>92509392
Thanks Anon, Supes looks great in yellow.
>>
>>92511787
Yeah, there's nowhere to deport him to.
>>
>>92522563
It's not contrarian to point out a flaw that Tomasi has had for years.

The thing is that he writes good enough family interactions right now that it's not as noticeable since the main beats there are not Superman saving the day as much as it is about the family emotion. I'm just concerned that with this Sinestro arc the flaws in his Superman characterization will be more apparent since it seems like normal capeshit. Tomasi just isn't good with Superman in this context.

Maybe Champagne will be actually scripting it while Tomasi and Gleason only outlined.
>>
>>92525182
Tomasi's GL Corps lasted like a decade and was always good. It always surprises me that /co/ turned against him all of a sudden.
>>
>>92525225
I honestly didn't like his GLC. Basically dropped it after the arc with the Star Sapphire girl outside of the BN issues. I know I'm in the minority there though.

I think a lot of /co/ is upset at how he did Batman and Robin considering how much Dickbats and Damian is loved here. But I don't think omitting Dick like that was all his idea, seems more like an editorial thing by DC wanting that book to be accessible to newfags without them needing to have read all of Morrison's stuff.
>>
>>92525308
I mean, once Bruce came back it should've been a surprise to no one that Dick was boxed away in solo adventures. Expecting a lot of Nightwing in a book titled "Batman and Robin" is just naivety.
>>
>>92525862
I don't think anyone expected Dick to actually be in the book and having adventures with them, just that pretending like Damian wasn't already raised by another man after Bruce rejected him was shitty. He has to be part of any father-son narratives you do there. But again I don't blame Tomasi for that.
>>
>>92509704
Let's hope #12 is not an abrupt ending with the Metans catching her.

>>92520049

>>
>>92522563
Tomasi is just an alright and inoffensive writer. It's safe to say that he has never and won't ever be shaking the genre as guys like Moore, Gaiman, Milligan or even Ostrander, Busiek or King.

Heads up, don't expect good creative teams for the Kirby one shots. The editor on it is crap. He's edited their video game tie ins like Injustice and Arkham knight and is editing Batman Beyond right now.
>>
>>92516248
Sad to see it go, but it simply never got back to the first runs pre-yearbook quality. Getting Kerschl back on art would have helped it a lot.

Aside from the garbage dialogue, pointless exposition(how can a writer/artist brother combo fuck THIS up?) there's also the fact that Sandman was far more interesting than Forager.

>>92529785
Out of all of the characters I think she has the best chance of sticking around. Though it's still totally dependent on other writers taking a shine to the book.

Nah, they will all go into the thrash like the We Are Robin cast did.

I think Olive would make a great TT villain, but I doubt these writers have the balls to end the book with her remaining evil. It will be very tragic.
