I don't have a pull list. I just go down to the comic book store on Wednesday and get the ones I want from the stands.

Now I did ask the guy behind the counter about subscribing and pre-ordering. However he told me that I would have to subscribe to a MINIMUM of 20 comic books. I can't just subscribe to like 3. No, it is required for me to subscribe to at least 20.

So, yeah I'm gonna stick to how I've been doing things. Name of the store is New England Comics in Malden, MA, BTW.

I'm fairly sure Saitama makes it expressly clear he specifically chooses when he'll do superheroing. He doesn't bother if others can handle it.
Of course, when no one else can do it then it becomes an obligation, but I'm just saying he can and does choose in other cases to ignore things that aren't his problem.

I hate the Spiderman/Deadpool ongoing.

I have no good reason to. I just hate it because it's hamfisted Spideypool fujoshilling and I fucking despise Spideypool. Before the series, my hatred of the ship was completely justified since Peter hated Wade but now that they have this stupidly forced friendship and all this fanservice the Spideypool fujoshits realise their shit tier ship that used to just be based on them having similar outfits, quipping, Japanese fan art and Peter being tsun has some legitimacy.

I do genuinely believe that from an industry stand point and release format (i.e., magazine vs single issue) as well as how artist are handled Japan's comic industry is better then ours.
That being said, content wise I prefer western material.
Animation is a mixed bag, while they have more studios, ours do generally produce higher quality works (granted, this is like hollywood vs bollywood, while it may produce more works, most are very bland and generic) but honestly, I can not stand Disney.

Whenever I voice my opinions on the industry and such, most people assume I am just a fucking weaboo, yet honestly, I really can't stand most anime and manga.
Sure, for example, I think that the magazine system is better since it means that instead of buying a fresh issue you don't know if you will like, you are buying several issues at once, so there is a better chance of you finding something you enjoy, and likewise, it helps to expose readers to things they might not otherwise try when buying issues individually. Yet I would take /co/ any day over shounen jump.

I think I'm tired of cape comics. I'm tired of being sold "THIS WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING FOREVER!" stories and events when it's obvious by now that no, it won't. The companies will look at their sales demo, realizes all their "hardcore" readers don"t like change and anything different, and then pull a "EVERYTHING'S GOING BACK TO ITS ROOTS" event, before trying another "THIS WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING FOREVER!" event when apathy resettles in and sales get low again. It's like these comics are too predictable even in their attempts to "shake things up".

I'd much prefer reading stories with natural plot progression, character developments and world evolution than all of it being dictated by corporate mandates and always subjugated to the law of the status quo. I feel like this is a big reason why Ultimate Spider-Man was my favorite cape book, it felt like the titular character was actually evolving, his situation changed with the events of the books in a believable fashion (until Peter's death, which incidentally I felt was a great ending point for the story and the point where I stopped reading anything Ultimate altogether).

Which brings me on another tangent that all these cape stories would be a lot more fun to read if I felt they were building to an actual ending for their characters one day (even if it was just them passing the mantle and have their sidekick or a new kid take over, which incidentally is why I like DCAU Batman a lot more than comics Batman) instead of having them be rehashed for eternity. Recently I got into Kamen Rider and it's refreshing to watch super hero stories unfold where there's an actual ending in mind, even if some of them completely fumble that ending OOO, W[/spoiler

>>
>>92494308
That is the opposite of an unpopular opinion.
>>
>>92505096
I doubt beauty standards have anything to do with comic books. Here's mine on the subject though, I think that most sexy women in comics are terribly drawn and the only reason the artist keeps getting hired is because people have no standards. Same applies to men just to a lesser degree.
>>
>>92491742
I can't read a lot of good comics with old-timey art. I tried to read Batman Year one and couldn't. I watched the move instead. Comparing it to stuff like, Hush, yeah, even if you want to claim the writing of Year One is much Better than Hush, the art alone makes it a more fun experience.

>>
>>92491742
I prefer TT:Go over TT. The latter feels too much like a generic throwaway animu to me, while the former tries to be it's own thing. TT:Go's biggest flaw also isn't really a lack of quality but a lack of a common theme, it doesn't know which kind of humor it wants to use which pretty much means that it can't really use it's full potential. If it would have found a common theme and used it's full potential as a super hero satire, it might have become one of the best cartoons of the decade.
>>
>>92505240
It's not about how pretty they are, it's about quality usually anatomical though not always. Too many artists are allowed to constantly draw bad anatomy because they can mask it with shading or sexy poses. It's usually clear it's not caused by being in a hurry either, they just don't see the need to improve.
>>
>>92505240

Our standards were already fucked by consuming media and advertising full of actresses and models selected from a massive pool of candidates, mostly for their physical appeal, and then made-up and shopped to nigh-perfection. I wouldn't worry about comics in particular Stop fapping for a couple of month and then try your hand at 3DPD again. You'll be fine.

People don't complain about Enchantress herself, but rather about her place in the movie. She's too big of a threat, with the whole movie built around her and it ruins the plot.

As someone who has 0 attraction towards women, I don't mind female characters being unrealistically attractive as long as it's not obnoxious or absurd. Though even those can find their place in parodies or very targeted works.
