Am I the only one for whom The Clone Wars sort of ruined the movies?

After watching the entirety of the show, I watched Revenge of the Sith for the first time in years, and found that I simply don't recognize the characters. Anakin, for instance, got plenty of development in the cartoon, which is good, but it made him feel very different to the character from the films, much more reasonable and mature. And the fact that he looks and sounds completely different doesn't help. I know the original actors are hard to afford, but come on, couldn't they cast someone sounding closer to Hayden?

They got Obi-Wan's voice better, at least. But that cartoonishly pointy beard of his, as well as other exaggerated features of many of the characters, make the differences from their live-action versions really jarring. And the clones look and sound NOTHING like Temuera Morrison.

The problem is that, even though the films are the main medium of Star Wars, the simple fact that the total runtime of The Clone Wars is far longer than that of the prequel trilogy, and that it's fresher and more recent in my mind, I got too used to The Clone Wars characters, so now their movie versions feel wrong to me. The very thing I started my Star Wars journey with now doesn't register as "correct" anymore.
>>
>>92480063
what is this?
>>
>>92479982
Funilly enough, TFA doesn't actually harm the Prequels. The legacy of the Prequels is wrapped up in a neat bow in ROTJ, and the catalyst of the OT (and now the ST) remains as being the events of ROTS.

It's just the OT that TFA completely shits on and invalidates. Bravo JJ.

>>92480097
No, TCW only enhances the movies.

And yes, TCW having a huge runtime is not a coincidence.

Lucas talked about the benefits of tv over movies. TCW gets to expand the world and characters in ways that people still struggle to comprehend.

As for voice acting, well I love JAT and DBB, so your points are lost on me.

And as for the artstyle, well... Really my man? Of course certain things will be stylized in ways that aren't 100% identical to the live action counterpart. This is true in Rebels too.

>The problem is that, even though the films are the main medium of Star Wars, the simple fact that the total runtime of The Clone Wars is far longer than that of the prequel trilogy
That's because you're thinking about it all wrong. Stop thinking of the movies as the "main medium", when you admit yourself that TCW actually dwarfs the movies in runtime. Lucas used the movies as a platform for TCW to jump from. He didn't want people to think of TCW as "lesser" than the movies. That's why he encouraged Filoni to storyboard and animate as if he was directing actual actors on sets, rather than making some unimportant tie-in cartoon. It's just Star Wars. Enjoy it as such.

That's the thing though, RotS sets up the OT. So by shitting on OT it kind of shits on the whole journey. That scene in the very end is quite emotional - the Empire has taken over, liberty is dead and everything is going to shit, but then we see Owen and Beru holding baby Luke and looking into the sunset, and we know everything will be alright, because there is still hope, and that hope will grow and turn into a rebellion and save the galaxy. But then you remember that none of this means shit, because they don't actually save the galaxy, they just let a new Empire (albeit under a different name) grow right under their nose and destroy their entire capital system, while the Jedi are just as gone as they were under Palpatine. Might as well not have Luke and Leia born in the first place, seeing that they don't accomplish anything.

>>92480224
>No, TCW only enhances the movies.
I mean, yes, it certainly improves the Star Wars universe, its story and its characters. But by doing so it makes the movies look bad in comparison to the show.

>As for voice acting, well I love JAT and DBB, so your points are lost on me.
Not saying that their voice acting is bad, just that it's way too different from how the characters sound in the movies. For example, while Obi-Wan and Padme in TCW sound fairly close to their live-action versions, Anakin and the clones do not. It's like I'm hearing completely different people.

Same about their models: I can still recognize a stylized McGregor's Obi-Wan even behind that "wooden" beard, but I can't recognize Morrison's Jango/clones with those face models. It's like it's not just the same guy with exaggerated features, it's a completely different guy.

>This is true in Rebels too
I'd say Rebels actually got their models more accurate.

Who is Aphra's likeness based on, then?
>>
>>92480642

Such astonishingly ugly art, I'm shocked this is the standard that's allowed to be published.

I don't even really care that it's traced but it's just traced so so poorly, Aphra looks very unwell and the shading is hideous.

A very simply drawn comic with little to no shading, colour, or effects would be preferable to this.

It takes place right after Episode II
I'm guessing from the title that they'll probably do more like this about other Jedi

Nice.

They need to explore that period more. With everything between Geonosis and Christophsis being a blank state, they need to tell things like how did Anakin became a knight or when did they first met Ventress again.

Plus we know canonically the Battle of Dantooine was one of the first battles in the war since it's mentioned in the first few episodes of TCW and this comic is set right after Ep2.

>inb4 "th-they just dont want the comics to get in the way of the movies"
They could damn well have more ST content if they wanted with little difficulty.

They're just choosing to wisely expand the OT/PT era's first, seeing as there are large gaps in the canon timeline.

There was never a ridiculous "prequel ban".

Lucasfilm is telling the stories they want to tell, and right now that is mostly filling the gaps around AOTC and ANH it seems, with some outliers here and there.

Also what >>92482675 said. Nobody believes me when I say that TCW is the darkest piece of canon Star Wars media there is, until they see it for themselves. I wont go into specific spoilers, but there are episodes with explicit on-screen executions, suicides, zombies, arcs where the edgiest of villains are the protagonists rather than the heroes, and one arc that is literally Vietnam with Clones.

To be fair, Star Wars is very restrained with showing death unless it's a Stormtrooper. People go into TCW expecting it to be no different, perhaps even more restrained due to it being a cartoon.

Reality is actually the opposite.

Runtime aside, TCW had an exponentially high death rate compared to the rest of the franchise. Theres a video someone made compiling every canon death in Star Wars, and most of the video was basically a brutal TCW death montage that made the few movie deaths look like small time.

I guess it showed that the jedi were really unaccountable. The senate and the populace trusted that the jedi would be effective and responsible leaders. Also it could show that at the end of the day the republic didn't care about casualties of clones as you could always breed more; which is sort of a reflection of real in post war care. Did the republic non clone military leaders feel it wasn't worth butting heads with the jedi?

The Spearhead was also called the A-wing, soaybe the difference I'm apperance between the Rebels and ROTJ version is because in Rebels it is the original version, which was modified/breed into the RZ-1 for the later years.

Who knows? O just thought it was a neat tie-in to name them as Pheonix Squadron. I wonder if they were combined with another smaller squadron to make a temporary Grey or Green squadron that was cut from Rogue One?

Explain one thing to me, /swco/.

People with the ability to use the Force aren't created on demand, they are just randomly naturally born, right? Normally, they would be detected early and taken into the Jedi Order. But parents can refuse, can't they? Even if only 1% refuses, with tens of thousands of Jedi in the Republic there would be hundreds of individuals roaming free with Force powers, which they could potentially discover and use for their benefit and/or the others' harm. Is something done about them?

And with the Jedi Order gone, it's not like children strong with the Force stopped being born. Of course, the Empire would seek them out and then either kill or take on to train as Inquisitors. But they would keep being born all the time. So why in the very beginning of first episode of Rebels, Vader tells the Grand Inquisitor that the Emperor "has foreseen a new threat to him" and that "the children of the Force must not become Jedi"? Why is this a new threat, where have they been all the time?

Force sensitive children aren't inherently deadly to Palpatine and Vader. They could be ignored their whole life and never be able to lift a finger to harm them with the force. Training is the only way for a FS to become a danger; something that is very lacking after Order 66. At the start of Rebels is when Ezra is given his training by Kanan, thus making him a potential threat (even if he isn't at that level yet).

The Order only comes in to take children if their family or someone else on the planet calls them up to tell them there's a baby using the force nearby. The Jedi can then easily mind-trick everyone into giving them the child, if they are refusing to do so on their own.
>>
>>92487286
>"has foreseen a new threat to him" and that "the children of the Force must not become Jedi"?
He must have caught wind of Kanan, who could teach people the ways of the Jedi.
>>
>>92487286
The Empire is stretching itself very thing to build the Death Star, a lot of the reason the Rebel Alliance even managed to get off the ground was that the Empire was more invested in keeping its own projects a secret than in running surveillance on potential rebel cells
As for "foreseen a new threat", Luke is getting older and older, so the future he will one day bring about is becoming clearer and clearer in the Force. Before Palpatine had a vague sense someone with Force powers was after him (otherwise known as 'Tuesday' for your average Sith Master) but now that vision is starting to coalesce into something more coherent

That would be my guess anyway
>>
>>92487379
>The Jedi can then easily mind-trick everyone into giving them the child
The could, but the question is do they? I know the Senate gives the Jedi a lot of leeway but surely child snatching would be a step too far even for the Temple?
>>
>>92487286
These people need training to use their force powers, without they are just like the Normies. This >>92487125 comic also has a Senate Guard that is force sensitive but was deemed too old for training so he never went to the order and has no jedi powers to use.
I guess the babies letting balls float in the cartoons are either the exception to the rule or they lose those powers by getting older and letting their head get clogged by Normie behaviour and thoughts.
>>
>>92487451
The Senate and the Jedi already do nothing for decades, if not centuries, about slavery in the galaxy. Not even the Empire steps in to stop it from happening. The Order kidnapping some children every now and then is, unfortunately, right within the "shouldn't be done but it's RIGHTEOUS, and us, the Jedi, so it's okay!" window the Jedi work with.
>>
>>92487463
>they lose those powers by getting older and letting their head get clogged by Normie behaviour and thoughts.
Most likely this, the Jedi and to an extent the Sith both teach about emptying one's mind and focusing yourself a lot more than people generally can if they live a normal life
Maybe, with a lot of meditation and such, you might be able to keep that level of power in adulthood, but at that point I'd argue if you're already dedicated enough to do that, why didn't you join the Jedi in the first place?

>After the rough cut screening of the finale for the first time, everyone in attendance looked just as baffled at the cluster fuck as we'll be. Filoni admitted to throwing too much out there.
Filoni: “I may have gone too far in a few places”.
Uh, yeah?
The editor then attempted to explain pacing, and why four scenes with totally different emotional tones don’t work well together.
>Editor: “In a space of about 90 seconds, y'know, you go from lamenting the death of the jedi, to escape, to slightly comedic with Chopper, y'know, to Ashoka returning…”
But he kinda realized he was wasting his time, so he stopped.
Sam was frozen in utter shock at how horrible the season was. Internally, he regretted not challenging Filoni on some of the things he was worried about.
Filoni then realized that he couldn't remove major segments of the finale in editing because they’re intertwined.
>Filoni: “I mean, I’ve thought about this quite a bit, and the tricky part is you almost can’t take any of those pieces out of there now, because each one kinda takes you to the next place, and you can’t jump…”
HEY, IT’S TOO LATE NOW!
Later on after everybody’s started drinking, Filoni attempted to explain his newly minted bowel movement as “bold" and “extreme”, “stylistic”.
>Filoni: “It’s stylistically designed to be that way and you can’t UNDO that, but we can diminish the effects of it.”
No one looks like they knew what’s going on, and they all looked like they were about to start pointing fingers.
But that’s just my interpretation, I wasn’t there.

>>92487731
>Thanks, but is it possible for a Force-sensitive to learn some of these powers on their own? You won't get a full focus or control, but still. Like Ezra did an impossible jump over Kallus in the end of the first episode, before Kanan even told him about Jedi training.

I'd say it depends on your natural connection with the Force. The stronger you are naturally with the Force, the easier it is to master these techniques, even instinctively. On one hand you have people like Lyra who follow the Jedi philosophy and know of their abilities, but are merely attuned with the Force and can't wield it. On the other you have Rey who is a prodigy who can impose its will on the Force immediately once the mental block falls.

So yeah, you can. The willing control of the Force is depending part on your innate affinity, part on your faith and strenght of belief. The stronger either of them, the easier it is to use the Force.

>Stories where non-Sith non-Jedi individuals develop Force abilities on their own and use them for their own agenda when?

Already got them. Dagoyan Masters and the Nightsisters.

Also, living religious figures (like Christ or Buddha) on bullshit backwater Outer Rim worlds were probably Force Sensitives that just never recieved training because it's like a 1 in a million chance of a world birthing a Force Sensitive where there weren't any.

>I do have to ask why the fuck the Emperor didn't just stick Anakin in a full body version of the same thing
Anakin screwed up. Making him live in a shell that
went "Zip" when it moved
And "Bop" when it stopped
And "Whirrr" when it stood still
just to remind him of that failure constantly seems like a pretty Sith-like thing to do to an apprentice.
>>

I was more thinking individual people within an established galactic society like the Republic or the Empire using the powers to work up the ranks in and/or do damage to said society, as opposed to secluded backwater groups.

Also, as far as I understand the Nightsisters' "magick" is not exactly a Force thing, although the two are heavily connected.

In all seriousness, they do need to straighten out twi'lek biology, it's a mess. The ear thing is especially bizarre (particularly since cones or ears have canonical appearances on women now), though I guess you could handwave eyebrows somehow by saying males shave them for cultural reasons.

I've read A New Dawn in preparation for catching up on Rebels. Boy, I haven't had so much fun reading a Star Wars novel in long while (okay, I haven't read a Star Wars novels in a long while, period, but it was still one of the most entertaining ones I've read).

The best thing was Kanan, before he (more or less) returned to the Jedi ways as seen in the show: trying to be a typical tough guy, prone to getting drunk or starting a fight, seemingly detached (but still caring deep insider and trying to help others). And especially trying to hit on Hera (and her gradually warming to him too). What the hell did it go? They should have been raising kids by the time of Rebels S1.

So, about Twi'lek biology. I clicked on every canon Twi'lek article on the Wook, and going by the articles that have pictures, indeed all the males have ears while all the females have cones. Lyn Me is the only exception - she doesn't seem to have cones, so maybe they're indeed rigid and you can't see them under the headpiece, or maybe she just has a birth defect or something. Either way, she's the only exception.

Also, the Fortuna cousins are by far the ugliest males. I still wouldn't call most male Twi'leks "handsome", but looking as terrible as the Fortunas doesn't seem to be the norm. Maybe they're indeed both spice addicts. Or their family is prone to defects to due to inbreeding or some shit.

Then as a Senior Officer, she had access to a tailor and could show off her tits better.
Then by the time she was Flag Officer, she didn't feel the need to show off her tits and preferred a more comfortable cut. Also, by that time her tits had began to sag.

Guys. I'll be honest, I can't wait for Rebels to end.
It's a been going on for so long and with it out of the way they might be inclined to start with some NEW show-

One that isn't the literally entry level thing for young girls but like. Fuck- like imagine a Stormtrooper show or some equally impossible thing.
Just, anything really. Or probably set during force awakens or something I dunno.
>>
>>92499110

>>92499110
I expect them to stay the hell away from the ST era until the last movie is done. With any luck we'll get TCW, Rebel Alliance edition, a show with lots of overlapping stories about the nitty gritty of the conflict during the OT.
>>
>>92499110
>It's a been going on for so long
3 years? It has been with us since the start of Canon, but that still hasn't been a long time.

FPJ was telling people to expect 5-7 years, and TCW had 6 (with plans for 8)

>like imagine a Stormtrooper show or some equally impossible thing.

Yeah, what I'm thinking is that it's going to be a followup to Rebels and have some of the same characters, but with a different focus. My guess is that a lot of the ideas he had for later seasons of Rebels will be built into the show, but he decided that since the focus is shifting and the show can't focus on the Ghost "family" anymore it wouldn't be right to keep it as Rebels, so he's reworking those ideas into a new show.

That sounds like something he'd do. You already have Sabine focusing her attention away from the crew, Kanan's got all kinds of death flags now, Ezra is likely to leave at some point due to how close we are to ANH and avoiding the possibility of him and Luke being with the rebels at the same time, so with the core grew broken up I can definitely see Filoni wanting to rebrand and reconfigure the show since in his mind "Star Wars Rebels" is about this one group and since they can't keep the group together and follow their adventures then to him the show couldn't be "Star Wars Rebels" anymore.
>>
>>92499285
Old Obi kinda looks like old Han
>>
>>92499689
Filoni also said that we should expect to see Hera fighting with the Rebellion beyond Scarif and even Endor.

And in the latest Star Wars show, Carrie Beck said that Forces of Destiny is being constructed around media and stories that are currently buzzing around Lucasfilm.

So yeah, I think Filoni's next show will be an OT show, but with the scale of TCW, as in higher budget, lots more characters and locations, ect.

I expect it to primarily follow the OT cast, along with at LEAST Hera and Rex as his ties back to Rebels and TCW.

I mean, we could be completely wrong about this, but we only have very small hints to work with, but this is what things seem to be hinting at.

Also for what its worth, the OT comics and books are all set in the first year after ANH, which leaves a lot of empty space for Filoni to work with if they want to fill the rest of that with a cartoon series.

The more I think about it the more I hate the nu-troopers

>no blue, gray, or yellow accents like on the OG to help liven up the black and white
>the grills and filter tubes that gave the OG helmet that industrial look are gone, replaced with nothing, so it looks like a duck bill
>lenses are lost in all the black on the face, making the expression far more abstract and uninteresting
>The eye-catching asymmetric greaves are replaced with symmetric knee pads, again making the legs bland
>no pecs on the chestplate because of le female trooper maymay, in it's stead is a far less-threatening barrel shape
>white plastic on the gun; bright, inexplicable colors on guns has always been a pet peeve, they make it look more like a toy and less like a real world military firearm

When watching ROTJ I always assumed Bib and Jabba weren't typical of their respective species. Jabba oozes slime out the corner of his mouth while smoking weird shit and Bib is lumpy in the brow in the exact same way Sheev is and he certainly isn't a regular human in appearance. The fact that people somehow decided that literally every Hutt needs to have one droopy half of their face like a stroke victim and every male Twi'lek needs to have lumps all over their face as they age just because. Which is basically the same issue as the Z-95 becoming a less creative X-Wing despite there being no indication of such when it was introduced in tabletop and given contradictory descriptions in the Han Solo Adventures.
>>
>>92502373
That's Star Wars for you.
When you see the first individual of a species, you can be sure the whole species will share its traits.
The only exception I can think of is the rodians, who went from greedy bounty hunters to pretty chill guys in TCW
>>
>>92502373
This is not really true though, Canon has shown a huge variety of Hutt's, from "clean" ones, to huge ones, to Grakkus the Swole.

The EU had a big problem with "typecasting" aliens (cough-BOTHANS-cough), but Canon not so much.

>>92502373

Everything was taken at face value to be true or a perfect representation of that thing.
>Han Solo really did do the Kessel Run in less then 12 Parsecs
>Every Rodian is a violent psychopath
>Every male Twi'lek is a sleazy gross bastard that would sell his own mother to a necrophiliac for a few bucks
>Every female Twi'lek is a sexy, scantly clad sex kitten
>Every Hutt is a gangster
>Every Gamorrean is a gross dumb, thuggish Pig
>Weequay's are all evil bad guys
>>
>>92502466

The difference is that the other Hutts were designed in projects overseen by George. People who aren't George cling for dear life to the films even when it clearly doesn't make sense. Even "new" designs for a good portion of shit is just finding unused McQuarrie shit or vague descriptions of early stuff.

I mean even Rogue One is the same shit. You have the same moisture vaporators and another ugly pink-beige twi'lek guy and a tank that's a clone wars repaint. The two original fighter designs literally had months of development in committee. Lucasfilm is terrified to have literally anything from a film be an outlier or a one off, or even have a competing unrelated design. I mean, how many non R2 style astromechs are there?
>>
>>92502505

I think the only thing that escaped this was probably Devaronians, if only because their females look so different and they got taken in a few different directions, and even then mainly because you can only do so much with literal satan people before you want to subvert it. I think a lot of the late game stuff that carried over into NuCanon is really cool, even if it just underlines a whole lot of very obviously unanswered questions about shit like inquisitors.
>>
>>92502524
The U-Wing was new.

Also ugly-Twi'lek in R1 is literally related to Bib, so that has an explanation that sort of works.

And Grakkus was created after George left.

Not to mention characters like Hera and L'ulo breaking stereotypes about their species.

I think for the most part Lucasfilm is following Lucas's design philosophy, Rogue One had a lot of similarities to OT stuff because it's set 5 minutes before ANH. The Force Awakens was a lot less excusable, but we all know who's fault that was.
>>
>>92502505
>everything was taken at face value
Didn't that shit happen with game mechanics too? Which made it make even less sense in places.

And again, the U-Wing took months of development.

Beezer wasn't even related to Bib until Pablo decided to just run with it. It was literally just an in joke that got taken too far.

Grakkus was made after TCW made the establishments and he's closer to Jabba than those hutts were.

>I think the only thing that escaped this was probably Devaronians
Not really.

>Han Solo really did do the Kessel Run in less then 12 Parsecs
Established as factual in the movie, oh well

>Every Rodian is a violent psychopath
Rodian Senators seen in the movies and TCW, Rodian Younglings shown, Luke visits Rodia in a recent book too

>Every male Twi'lek is a sleazy gross bastard that would sell his own mother to a necrophiliac for a few bucks
With the exception of the Fortuna family, and Orm Free Ta, all male Twi'leks have been reasonably handsome, and portrayed as respectable men just trying to make a living, or even fight for the lives of their family and planet.

>Every female Twi'lek is a sexy, scantly clad sex kitten
This is due to the lore, that Ryloth is wartorn that has no opportunities for women beyond using their bodies to earn money. But even this has been challenged, with plenty of non-whore Twi'leks, and even heroes like Hera.

>Every Hutt is a gangster
Movies establish the Hutts as a crime family, soooooo

>Every Gamorrean is a gross dumb, thuggish Pig
Okay, you got me on this, theres still not been any friendly Gamorreans yet

>Weequay's are all evil bad guys
Hondo having a heart of gold (that he'd sell for profit if he could) is breaking this

Then you also have the dozens of other aliens that don't have stereotypes, or completely broke free from stereotypes they used to have, like all Bothans being spies in the EU.

Tabletop devs always suck at that. You invariably wind up with weird shit as a result. In most video games like MMO's and Jedi Academy where you COULD choose the difference is mostly cosmetic. Even in Galaxies which was super anal about stat differences and minutae they usually just assigned mostly random minor bonuses.

And they all look the same. You can say the same for ROTJ since there's a Rodian slave dancer but nobody really brings that up.

Devaronians are extremley dimorphic and actually come in multiple colors and styles that aren't recolors. They have weird shit like retractable teeth and dense muscles. They're statistically more likely to be force sensitive.

With Devaronians there's a legitimate sense that there's a bunch of stuff building on itself. There's an issue of conflicting female designs but for the most part there isn't actually anything that's ridiculously contradictory over time or blindly slavish to the movies like 95% of other species.

The fact that Disney somehow tricked the prequel haters into spending money on more prequel films shows a level of wizardry I can't even fathom.

Don't be a fucking idiot. You're not only making an abhorrent shitpost, but you're completely misusing >>92502650 and taking his point out of context.

He was saying that Disney was happy to let JJ rehash ANH for their first movie to play it safe, not that they are conspiring to ignore the prequels.

Because they have stormtroopers and X-wings and TIE fighters and shit in it.

Nothing as original as a droid army or politics to frighten the "fans"
>>
>>92502736
There was going to be politics in TFA, quite a bit into production too, but JJ pussied out and cut it, which is why you have all of those established senator characters but the only scene left in the movie is where they're blowing up.

Rian Johnson helped with Bloodline which makes me think there might be a small political subplot in TLJ though.

I should point out that I'm talking Pre-Disney/Old EU

>Han Solo really did do the Kessel Run in less then 12 Parsecs
>Established as factual in the movie, oh well
No, it was originally just a claim that Solo made, which the shooting script gave directions of "Ben reacts to Han's poor attempt to impress them with misinformation."
It was only in TFA where it was confirmed, which just JJ's unoriginal wannabe nostalgia bullshit

>Every Rodian is a violent psychopath
>Rodian Senators seen in the movies and TCW, Rodian Younglings shown, Luke visits Rodia in a recent book too
None of which got any real development

>Every male Twi'lek is a sleazy gross bastard that would sell his own mother to a necrophiliac for a few bucks
>all male Twi'leks have been reasonably handsome and portrayed as respectable men just trying to make a living, or even fight for the lives of their family and planet.
See every male Twi'lek in KotOR

>Every female Twi'lek is a sexy, scantly clad sex kitten
>This is due to the lore, that Ryloth is wartorn that has no opportunities for women beyond using their bodies to earn money.
Yes and that lore was developed to accommodate the sexiness
>But even this has been challenged, with plenty of non-whore Twi'leks, and even heroes like Hera.
Are you saying Hera's not attractive? Yeah, she where's more clothes then every Twi'lek previously seen combined, but she's not unattractive.

>Every Hutt is a gangster
>Movies establish the Hutts as a crime family, soooooo
Not until TPM, which came along after the EU made every Hutt a gangster.

>Weequay's are all evil bad guys
>Hondo having a heart of gold (that he'd sell for profit if he could) is breaking this
And he was made for/introduced for the Clone Wars, which had more effort put into it then the EU generally did.

I think you've mistaken retro graffix for handsome. In that game every male has the same weird brow ridge and wrinkles, it's just that the model is so low poly and they couldn't afford to bump map so it doesn't come off that great.

Griff is also the goddamn ur example of an EU male twi'lek. The only big example to counter it is a jedi and jedi trumps other species rules in literally every example.
>>
>>92502956
Nah m8, they were able to make male characters like Carth, Atton or Bao-Dur quite handsome.

This is what was so great about TCW (and later Rebels), and now other media is well. It brought so much variety to the galaxy, from locations to characters. Various representatives of the same species look differently, have different accents and personalities, as opposed to all being copies of a few of the same movie characters. This is best seen in the Hutt council, who are all actually different individuals, and not just Jabba clones like goddamn everywhere in the old EU.

What I don't understand is this: why would Lucas chose to expand his own world in a cartoon that's aimed at younger audiences than the films? The films are family friendly but the cartoon is aimed squarely at young kids.

The cartoons are just as family friendly as the movies are.

And in the words of Lucas himself; "Star Wars is for 12 year olds."

>why would Lucas chose to expand his own world in a cartoon that's aimed at younger audiences than the films?

1, because television allowed him more to do with his creation that the films did.

2, the films were always aimed at younger audiences. Star Wars has ALWAYS been intended for kids. That just kinda gets warped and misunderstood because a lot of kids who like Star Wars don't grow out of it and continue to like it well into adulthood. But at the end of the day, children were the intended demographic. And that still hasn't change other than that they're trying (and I stress, trying) to push it to appeal to only girls nowadays.
