Thanks for reminding me of the nightmares of my youth.

My family are Woodsmen, meaning that we are trained to bug innawoods for extremely long periods of time without supplies. Essentially Forest/Mountain Hermitry and Survivalism is a rite of passage for men in our family.

My Grandpa (God bless his soul) used to tell me stories when I was younger about things he had seen during his outings. This was one of them. Now personally as an adult, I either think it was a hallucination from hunger/thirst (because it happens when you are out for a month plus.) or it was a way to toughen me up before my first outing. Mostly because fear is absolutely integral when you go on an outing, you must face it and overcome it to become a man, or you fail before it and die like an animal.

My first outing was a three week session innawoods with a day's supply (because my father liked me) at 15. I did never see one of these creatures (mostly because I had found a berry patch near a creek so I was plenty hydrated most of the time) but the fears of these sort of creatures staring at me from the woods, waiting for me to die, stalking me, they are what inspired me to build an underground shelter.

Thanks for the memories of my Woodsman days.

I say this as a person who likes them both:
Huntress Wizard has that mysterious air to her. She's sort of "sassy", even in her brief appearances before Flute Spell. You kind of get the idea that she takes no shits and has a bunch of stuff going on, because they have her doing stuff in the background.

Now take Flame Princess. On her own, she had a coolness to her. When she was first introduced I, at least, wanted to know more about her and how she'd influence Finn and how Finn would influence her. My favorite graphic novel was the one between her and Finn, cause I felt that was a lot of what I wanted for them. However, with actual execution, I don't feel like she was utilized to her best. She doesn't end up doing much, hell it took Elements for her to have an onscreen interaction with Marceline.

I don't have a problem with Bubbline, it's alright I guess and I can totally see why people are so into it, but it is annoying that it seems to be the main reason that Marceline has been so kept away from Finn for the past 3 or so years. If they could just solve that problem and let those two characters talk to each other I'd be happy as can be.

Though I feel like Finn and Marceline never hanging out anymore is done for reasons other than just Bubbline (though Bubbline is definitely part of the reason).

Honestly, because it's not that interesting. There aren't many episodes of AT that have the characters just hanging out. Even the Finn/Marcy episodes have never been that. Evicted was about Marceline stealing their home and F+J having to find a new one. Henchman was about Marceline toying Finn with her vampire powers. Go With Me was about Marceline helping Finn to court PB. Heat Signature was Marceline pranking Finn and Jake and so on.

They could do an episode where say, Marceline and Finn decide to pull a prank on the Candy Kingdom for whatever reason, but I feel like there's better stories to be told.

You're not doing a very good job i think you are confusing what the episode is about with what actually happens within that episode. These two ideals are related but they are in no way the same. Take the episode
"Jake the brick" that episode is about Jake being a brick, but i would not say that is a fair summary of what happens in the episode.

No, I am not. I am saying that there is always some other factor at play. They aren't 'just' hanging out in Go With Me. There is an external problem (Finn trying to go to the movies) that they are trying to solve, and it is compelling because it also helps to flesh out their relationship.
