I had that issue with a lot of my older Darkhorse trades (man, the glue they used sucked) and, if that happened, I just used craft glue to reattach the covers to them while holding them together with a few rubber bands as I pressed them flat under a stack of heavy books. They have yet to have any issues in the years I've had them since.
