I had most of the little playsets, but I only saw a few episodes of the cartoon and don't remember much about it.

I loved the show as a kid. Also, Bea. It was one of the few cartoons everyone watched and enjoyed, which was something of a rarity. It had all the elements necessary for boys to like it - fantasy, action, faraway lands, fights, Norman and a protagonist who wasn't a wimpy pussy.

All I remember was one episode that had a flashback for the big muscle guy, and he fought off some hulking bandit leader as a kid. However he did so by RAMMING A STICK through the guys skull, but somehow he didn't die. It was bloodless of course but I couldn't fathom how that was allowed on a kids show, even as five year old me

One of the better, maybe even best shows of the 90s. They took the fact that it was syndicated and ran with it to glorious effect.

I actually didn't watch the show when I was a kid. Well, I DID, but I was too young to remember anything about it, being 5 years old when it started airing. The first time I ever actually watched it and understood what it was was in my late teen years.

To this day I'd say it's still one of my favorite cartoons, toyline-based or otherwise. It had an amazing cast with great characters, it had surprisingly deep and complex themes, it actually put some effort into educating kids through using things that happened in the episodes to give them some bits on science or history or the like, and I still adore the art style and music. Skullmaster was an amazing villain too.

I'm gonna go rewatch it now, /co/. Thanks for reminding me that this show is a thing.

The show was about Max being the bearer of the Crown of Time from ancient Egypt. He could tear open portals and travel through time and space, and the Crown took on the appearance matching the wearers personality, hense max being the "Cap-Bearer". It was tripped the fuck out and mentioned the lost civilization Lemuria. Very /x/ type show, even though geared towards kids.

I had a couple of the playsets, including Skull Mountain, but I don't think I ever really watched the cartoon. Also all the playsets I had were before this show was a thing, so I never had any based on it.
