The main reason Starfire decided to follow Red Hood was because he reminded her of Nightwing, which she was trying to remember more about but couldn't. That's why she had Nightwing's spare costumes around so she could sniff his scent on them to help herself get a better recollection of him. Then you'd Red Hood explaining to Arsenal that Starfire's species simple couldn't distinguish human's features well and even remember much humans' features after some time away.

Then you had Starfire remembering Nightwing well, but not wanting to confront him for some odd reason or talk to Arsenal why she lied to him that she couldn't remember him, Nightwing and their old friends.

And then it was never addressed. We don't know why she did that, what happened in the past to make her do what, why she was shipwrecked in that tiny island and so many other questions.

I've no problem with the old RHatO team and most of their adventures being canon itself, but the Arsenal/Starfire relationship remaining canon bothers me because both Arsenal and Starfire were major shitty people there.

Arsenal didn't cared one bit that Starfire, an old friend, was following Red Hood around, a guy who isn't very nice, or that Starfire seemed to not remember her past and Red Hood was bragging about banging her, which presented the possibility that Red Hood was taking advantage of her to get back at Nightwing, something Red Hood could be capable of. No, he didn't give one iota of care as long he could have the chance to bang her. Then he continued to keep his mouth close about the issue since he wanted to be a part of the group and keep on banging Starfire, and if he said anything Red Hood could kick him out and Starfire stop having sex with him.

Then you've Starfire who for whatever reason lied to Arsenal that she couldn't remember nor cared about their past friendship or any of their old friends, and simple decided to use him as a fucktoy and keep leading him on with that lie. Even after Arsenal had gotten attached to her and finally started to get bothered by her attitude and try to pry the truth from her on what was going on.

You know, this cross-over is leaving me empty

For example take the Titans book. Everyone thought it would bring the old continuity back, what with the old and white Wally West coming back in the Rebirth special, but you get to read the book and it's not the old Titans. Not really.

For example this Wally isn't even the pre-Flashpoint back to fix the continuity like the Rebirth special tried to fool you into believing. He's a New 52 taken on Wally that was never referenced before because he was erased by Abracadabra.

Like him all the other older Titans are new takes on the 60-70's tenure of the team. It's the Nu52 Nightwing, Nu52 Arsenal, a new take on Tempest, the Finches' version of Donna Troy, a new take of fucking Lilith (like, really?), and so on.

The readers who thought that the Titans book would acknowledge the history of the team are shit out of luck. The only thing they did was reintroduce the idea of a previous Titans group before the Nu52 team lead by Nu52 Tim Drake. Keeping with the Nu52 Starfire is the same from the Nu52 RHatO as is Beast Boy and Raven the same from the Nu52 Teen Titans.

So there was never a version of the team akin to the New Teen Titans tenure. Cyborg's still a 30 years old JL founding member that was never friends with any of them. Starfire was far as it has been revealed only ever interacted with Nightwing and Arsenal, Beast Boy and Raven are teenagers that have been Titans only for a few years. The team readers knew and care never existed in the new landscape.

Even then the current cross-over is still trying to bank on readers nostalgia and on the Judas Contract brand name. Even if everything is different.

The premise of the Rebirth is that Prime Earth = New Earth. That's why New Earth Superman was able to unite into a single being with Superbro. That's why the multiversal Justice team said that they arrived at New Earth, instead of the New52 PE designation. That's why New Earth Superman and Wally were able to recognize each other and bond on both being from the "lost world".

Just like Superman Reborn mashed two continuities into a single one, Wally said back in the Rebirth special that he was losing memories of the orginal timeline after returning from the Speed Force, and the people he gave memories back couldn't remember some stuff. Since the reality was fundamentally altered, the memories Wally brought back "make way" into the new "Prime Earth" timeline. That's how Barry remembers his New Earth battles against Thawne and his Reverse-Flash title, even though in New52 Thawne was only known as Zoom and had like one arc against Barry.
