I'm a little nervous. I still have bad memories of the full metal alchemist finale that had like 7 plot threads going into the final episode and it had to give like 2 minutes to each one and even them the credits started rolling at the end while it was still trying to answer some.

I loved the shot of him when he first appears before Jack with his body back.
Standing there with the long coat and scarf fluttering and with the rice hat.

Maybe if the original series stayed Jack would have went to the past. But considering the new mature direction and tone of the season, I feel like this is a 50/50.

After all, ALL the time portals are destroyed and I don't really know how they could force another one. Apparently the next episode is to be sad and the going back to the past is a metaphor.

So I feel a good chance that Jack will come to terms with his situation, and Ashi will help him rule the land as a good king. Though hopefully done well, this is the biggest "let go of the past" ever.

Though if Jack stays because of Ashi with a portal in front of him, fuck that.
