Maybe its just not important enough to bother with? Aku is only harming one planet so far.

I got the impression that they didn't even notice they missed a bit until AKU emerged from the goop, at which point they took the time from their schedule to give the emperor a hand.

Osiris bottled Anubis' minions and promised he'd deal with them for good if it really had to be done at some point. He did come all the way to earth in person but buggered off to space the moment he'd done what he promised he would.

To me it feels like the three gods who fought spacegoop feel just a little bit responsible for the state earth is in but don't actually care enough to do more than hand the humans something to finish the job with.
