Nah, dude I love Psylocke but she's not solo material. She's a good team player character and there's nothing wrong with that, not every character needs to be but she's not really a long term solo act.

Agreed I quite liked Betsy as depicted in X-Men Vol 4 in the ninja suit. The artist had an ability to accentuate her agility, litheness and supple form basically how a female ninja assassin should be depicted.

There's something about Julie Bell's work in this that speaks to the fierceness of the character, it's not cheesecake in fact it's not particularly attractive as far as Psylocke imagery goes I think it's something in the stance and body posture that captures the appeal of this piece to me.

Ive been tinkering with the idea of a Psylocke mini series and by tinkering I mean blatantly ripping off Ninja Scroll but eh a 3-4 issue book of her getting zapped to fantasy Japan and then having to deal with a boss rush of feudal fantasy enemies based on regular X-men enemies is a fun popcorn book. Juggernaut as some giant, Sabertooth as a psycho samurai killer, Omega Red with dual whips a foreign swordsman based on Slay master.

Thing that really got me about that book which was so well done was she actually used her intelligence rather than powers/martial arts to neutralize Wolverine on full on berserker mode as well without it coming across as 'jobbing'. I thought that was exceptionally well handled.

Superheroes were created to celebrate the perfection of the human form, even back in the golden age most of them were built like Greek gods. And that's the thing, they were these larger than life, mythic characters striding around among humans. Their stories were epic and fantastic, even though they were tempered by realism.

Today the "realism" has crept in and completely overtaken most of the awe and mystery in Marvel's titles and instead we have dull adventures and turning what was once cool concepts into jokes.
