Originally the Amazons had advanced technology because they were a utopian society, not just a mythical race.

The jet was called the "robotplane", because Wonder Woman could control it with her mind.

Later on they changed it so that the jet was just Pegasus, but that Pegasus changes over time to match transportation technology.

They got rid of it post-Crisis but eventually Byrne gave her one that was an alien sentient crystal that could transform into any vehicle and also into a secret flying base called WonderDome.

Rucka had WonderDome "sacrifice" itself, making it lose its sentience and be stuck forever in jet form.

Post-Infinite Crisis jet was just a fucking WayneTech stealth aircraft that the DEO used.

And most recently in Year One the Amazons rebuilt Steve Trevor's plane with magic and invisible scales and Diana used it to bring him back to America.

I mean if you have an entire society of mostly immortals then does it really make sense for their technological and scientific development to be stuck in the Bronze Age? Even if they are isolated from the rest of the world, shouldn't they still be making their own progress?

They have scientists and doctors and philosophers who have either been studying the same shit for thousands of years or have been cycling through different fields as they get bored

I really like that Morrison reincorporated those elements back into WW for Earth 1. Really wish they'd do the same for the main continuity, to help differentiate her from just normal Greek mythology, but mythology and scifi probably doesn't track well with the average consumer.

It worked for what he was going for but I like the more Mythological element that was in Azzarello's Wonder Woman. You don't see much of that in DC capeshit.
