I'll be blunt I'm much more interested in the show about Princess Moon and Toffees friendship as they deal with political uprisings and extra-dimensional terrorists that all leads up to Toffee betraying Moon because of a disagreement and becomes the Kingdoms number one wanted monster as he flees his home.

If they make the Moon/Toffee backstory TOO interesting I'd probably feel the same way. Not that it being interesting is a bad thing-- more like if the Star side of the story ends up less interesting by comparison. Like if Moon and Toffee have a whole life story that could be its own show instead of maybe a briefer relationship that ultimately led up to that one conflict and then nothing really since then.

But with the implications of Star growing up and developing her magical ability, dealing with Toffee herself so that things between them get more personal, meeting Eclipsa, etc. I'm hoping/expecting that her side of the story will be more interesting in S3/4, when she'll have a more active role with the "forces of evil" stuff than she did in 2.

I get the sense they're going to go for an emotional angle when we get more details, but while that could mean Toffee was more sympathetic at that time it could also mean he killed/tried to kill one of Moon's family members or something.

I like the pacing of the show, watching Gravity Falls when I understood that it's a non-plot pushing episode I was tempted to skip it, Star meanwhile makes me have this feeling of showtime being divided in 3: between main plot, romantic plot and fillers. And the fillers don't stand out as much as they do in GF.

Question: during the school rat episode, when Star was giving motivational speech to everyone, she mentioned that she didn't talk to Marco's buds (Ferguson & the other one) in a year or so. Was that an allusion to the fans about pushing these characters out of the show or something?

It was more of the people in charge actually clarifying that certain characters hadn't suddenly gone into a state of non-existence. They were still there, but they weren't being including in episodes anymore, and realistically it makes sense why they wouldn't be. Star and Marco moved from "quirky-awkward-losers" like Alphonso and Ferguson and instead have become relatively popular, and Marco himself hangs out with a lot of girls that probably tolerate those two, but don't want to hang out with them.

I think it depends on your position. If you're the creator, then your headcanon = word of god and essentially canon. But if you only work on the show, your headcanon needs to be okayed and actually made canon in order to become so. But the crew have more inside info and insight into the characters, and more ability to influence canon, so their interpretations and opinions kinda weigh more.

But honestly I doubt they'll want to make all 5 of the main-ish girls blatantly canon straight, considering the amount of progressives in the crew and the fandom. Star, Jackie, Kelly are/ have been in straight relationships, Ponyhead actively dates dudes, but Janna is ambiguous and single and kinda butch.
