From what I got from their brief appearance in Catalyst, they're the codenames of other Death Star related projects, with each code name being one engineering element of the project.

I like to imagine that it's something like in Asimov where it's a whole bunch of dead abandoned worlds and upon each world there is something designed to wipe out every living creature upon the surface.

Plus there's that bit where the Noghri homeworld is treated a bit like the radioactive Earth in Asimov's Pebble in the Sky where they're trying to persuade the Galactic Empire to bring in topsoil.

And that bit where Hari Seldon sets up two different Foundations - one dedicated to the physical sciences and one dedicated to the mental sciences at 'the other end of the Galaxy - Star's End'. It's a bit like Thrawn setting up two different Empires, one run directly by him and the second, the secret Empire of the Hand, set on the very edge of known territory to deal with threats that the main Empire didn't know about.

Plus that bit where Hari Seldon intends to appear to offer guidance on every major crises and Thrawn has his clone set up to reappear ten years after his death.

That's some perfect crossover material right there.

Is Luke actually that powerful in the force though? You can't argue that he was able to fend off Vader, because Vader was always going easy after he found out that they were related (or toying with him in that one comic). Aside from that, he just does some jumps and chokes some guards. Impressive, but nothing outside the abilities of an average Knight. Sure, Palpatine seemed smitten, but only because he was the Chosen One's son.

So in the Ottegan Assault mission in Lego TFA Kylo tells Phasma that if they fuck up this mission it's her fault because somehow she slipped up and let the Resistance get to the Ottegans before they did. In Poe's comic he's about to encounter Phasma and they can't just have him looking for San Tekka forever or it would feel odd so I get the feeling that they're gonna end his comic soon with this Ottegan Assault story that they've been building up to but haven't quite figured out how long it would take (which means they needed an ongoing).

There's a Legends comic that has Bultar as part of a surviving group of Jedi that confronts Vader. In Legends I think she was formerly Plo Koon's apprentice before the Clone War began. There's an episode where Anakin saves these space-moles from Techno-Union bioweapons manufacturers. He comes to find they have been hideously mutated, partially vivisected, given weapon attachments, and fitted with a control harness.

Ultimately he goes apeshit, frees all the roided-out mole people while losing his robot arm, and uses the Force to compress a Techno-Union admin's lungs until they explode and his atmospheric support system crumples like a coke can. The mole-aliens are so awed by this they, noticing Anakin lost his arm in the fight, tear off their own weapon arms as a salute to him.

It's worth 2 hours of your time to watch it, but literally everything in it is done in TCW, and better so. Quite a lot of it was straight up adapted too. The 5 minute Kit Fisto segment was adapted into the full 4-episode-arc on Mon Cala in TCW.

The thing people usually cling to is "b-but Grievous, he's so badass here, Lucas ruined him!!", but it's effectively a few minutes of Greivous curbstomping 5 Jedi at once to the point of rediculousness.

I'm talking hanging from the ceiling like a ninja, and wielding an extra lightsaber with his foot, levels of stupidity.

If you can just enjoy it as a silly animated short with lightsabers, then have fun.

Nothing sad about this at all. It's literally what Lucas asked for from Genndy after seeing how much his own kids loved Samurai Jack (really).

Hell, initially the shorts were going to be even SHORTER, but Genndy and his team went 'uh, that won't work if you want even the barest of narrative.'

Grievous was pretty much exactly how he was originally pitched, too, a nightmarishly dangerous droid general. Obviously you have to allow some leeway for Genndyphysics (other characters do ridiculous stunts too, it's one of the things he likes best about cartoons).

One thing I never see anyone comment on vis a vis Genndywars is that it has REALLY good comedic timing with the clone troopers, who come off as both badass and completely unflappable.

Empire Strikes Back is my favorite Star Wars movie because of the atmosphere and personal stakes of it. The three major locales in the movie have an indescribable comforting atmosphere to them that speaks to me on a personal level. I appreciate how the movie is a reversal of most blockbusters (including the first Star Wars movie) by having the thrilling climactic battle be in the first act rather than the third, so the movie can pace itself better as a character study and internal drama. It feels more intimate than any other Star Wars movie and we get to see the characters evolve and the world expand.
