Can't see a more dissapointing end, the only thing that comes to mind is Gohan but he's slowly coming back up

If they want to do something about time portals he might still play some part (I don't know how). But it's more likely that Aku will transport Jack from there in the next episode.
Too bad we don't even have a flashback of his death scene.

Know it's /tv/, but I'm still too mad to not display my butthurt at the first opportunity. That shitty show had one good thing going for it and they wasted it.

Genndy always wanted to end the show with a movie, right?
He had such a vivid vision for a movie that he prefered to just leave the show open ended when making a movie became impossible, right?
I'm open to the possibility that the whole point of the guardian and the portal was just to have them be destroyed in that movie too, to raise the stakes. I mean we have seen it a million times in fiction, give the audiences hope so you can then crush it and make it hurt harder, but also make wathever victory the characters can find more meaningful.

The everybody dies mantra that GoT uses is that "no character is safe": the main character might get his head chopped off seven episodes in, or the badass knight gets killed in a dark alley by a bunch of starving masked peasants, the good guys lose and the conniving bad guys always cheat and win. It made for interesting television but started to get ridiculous around season 5 and 6 when you had shit like Areo Hotah dying from a little girl stabbing him in the back with a butter knife.

At least he addressed this plot point, even if it is a bit cheap to ditch it.

Besides, you'd be even more pissed if he appeared only to die about 30 seconds later.

My feeling was that eps 1-3 were an adaption of the Samurai Jack movie. It'd end with the daughters dying.

Alternatively, the movie is stretched out to become 10 episodes. Jack defeats the daughters, falls for Ashi, and then fights her in the end.
