I prefferred the ugly look. It made it seem like she was genuinely insane, rather then... welll... whatever it was.

It would have been neat that as the Main Character became more and more unhinged Mary kept on getting uglier and uglier. Last episode ends with her shooting up a park full of children, and Mary is completely ugly.

its a pretty funny show family sitcom and the CGI monster shows up for about 2 minutes per episode, I don't even understand what the point is of it really

It was supposed to be Drop Dead Fred\Ted\Unhappily Ever After for the Amy Schumar generation. Mary was supposed to be rude and crude, and the show was supposed to be more sarcastic.

Only the show was retooled to lose its edge and become family friendly, while Mary proved to be extremely expensive to animate.

Also just watched them put the proverbial bullet in the head of Bull their Michael Weatherly lead Law Drama.
