Rambo

...Yeeeeeah. I watched this show as a kid a ton as a sort of alternate to GI Joe but when i watched it years later it just seemed really kinda bad. Like, it was basically the same serving as the Chuck Norris cartoon but didn't have that wonderful unintentional self parody feel to it.

Rambo's two buddies are based off the movie Rambo's dead friend Delmar from First Blood and Kao from part two, his mentor is always there to help him and rather than be shunned by society and riddled with PTSD and other issues, he's a war hero who stops a desperately poor man's Cobra on a weekly basis.

It kinda feels stupidly exploitative in hindsight; bopth novel and movie (John) Rambo would have hated this shit.

I learned about Rambo through this cartoon as a kid. I didn't know about the original movie until some years later and it was awesome: It was like having the well-made, gritty, mature reboot you want for all your cartoons come to life, when even the term "reboot" as we use it didn't exist.

I never understood why they made animations of popular live-action shows like Mr.Bean, aside from the obvious franchise milking.

They always suck. Same thing for the Chavo Del Ocho cartoon.
