So Johnny Bravo is basically two completely different series.
Seasons 1 and 4 are more "mature", celebrity focused plot lines with a focus on parody and dialogue.
Seasons 2 and 3 are more "cartoony", with a larger cast, more outlandish plot lines, and a greater focus in slapstick.
Being the nostalgia blind, tasteless person I am, I dont know which I prefer.
So, /co/ which version of Johnny Bravo is better?

1&4 as well, made it more unique than other shows.

The ones without Carl and Pops

2 and 3 had that awful suzy design, so 1 and 4 were better/
>>
>>92333993
Hey JB experts, I remember in some episodes Lil' Susie looked cute like in the OP, but in others she looked kinda awful and kinda froggish. Was this a season thing or a boarder thing?
>>
>>92333993

I liked Pops but I fucking hated Carl
>>
>>92334939
A season thing, they changed art styles a bit with the new cast.
>>
>>92333993
2&3
I love Carl and Pops.
>>
The season where the animation quality went up and the character designs changed I distinctly remember not liking it as much.

They made Johnny into even more of a mongoloid
>>
>>92333993
What about the Johnny goes to Indian movie?
>>
>>92333993

Season 1 and 4 since those retained the spirit of the original shorts.
>>
>>92333993
S1, S2 & S3

S1 - was memorable moments
S2&S3 - was bit fun
S4 - bit odd, the pacing is awful

they never got that good again

1 and 4 are shit and got the show cancelled

2and 3 are where it's at

It looked like early flash, like the Mucha Lucha animators worked on it.

>>92333993
I think all season are good.

S1 had the right intelligence for Johnny. He wasn't a fucking barbarian who didn't know what a spoon was, but he was a bit on the stupid side.

S2 + S3 had the best humor, art, and pacing. I hate the celebrity episodes of JB where Alec Baldwin gets more lines than Johnny. It's fucking boring, I'm happy they got rid of them for these seasons. I don't really need to know what's going on with Jungle Boy. I also think Carl and Pops were great additions to the cast. It's especially great that Carl didn't artificially win in fights against Johnny and that he would actually get beaten up very often by JB. It's very unusual to see a cartoon outright have the main character unapologetically beat a non-villain up and get away with it. Usually cartoon characters suffer from Ed Edd n Eddy syndrome where they just can't win.

S4 had the best Suzy. She was the right level of cute and smart that still kept her infatuation trait with Johnny and got rid of her being a fucking asshole in S2 + S3. Her best interactions with Johnny were in the Christmas special.

Overall, S2 + S3 > S1 > S4.

I remember enjoying seasons 2 and 3 more. It surprised me how far the jokes would go that I didn't mind Johnny being so ridiculously stupid. It was clearly a different kind of show rather than the original show done wrong.
But then again not only was I a kid but also non-american so all those guest appearences flew over my head and seemed just odd. I didn't really get the intended experience from season 1 and 4.
I loved Jungle Boy though.

>So, /co/ which version of Johnny Bravo is better?

You're wrong, OP. They aren't different versions, just different sides of the same coin.

Without them both, Johnny isn't complete.
>>
Hate to say it, but I prefer 2 and 4 than the slower-paced, whimsy-focused 1 and 4. Humor was much more better structured and I got more laughs from Johnny being an egotistical manchild.
>>
3 and 4 Bravo gave him the best pick up lines.

>Excuse me, beachy-mama. I couldn't help noticing your lack of UV protection. How about I apply a little Oil O' Johnny?

>Heeeey judge gorgeous. May I ...'please' the court? Hold me in contempt? I don't care how you hold me, just hold me.

>Well bang the drum slowly! Hey baseball-betty. How'd you like to join me for a little 7th inning stretch?

>I see a 36-24-36 in progress! Stop right there gorgeous! You have the right to remain luscious! Anything you say can and will make me hold you against me.

>Heeeey buck skinny. How's about we go back to my home on the range and I'll show you how the deer and the antelope play!

>3 wishes? Sweet! But why don't we start with 1001 Arabian Nights back at your place!
>>
>>92338313
>how the deer and the antelope play
Well he'd know all about that
>>
Seasons 2 and 3 have better writing and episode premises, and Johnny plays really well off of Carl and Pops. Season 1 is good, but I think Johnny benefits more from being a little bit more energetic and dumb.

The Jack Sheldon guy acted like a sensitive nu-male to get laid. Johnny was better off since even though he was a dumb skirt chaser, at least he was genuine

It would probably be a lot more controversial if it aired today

I dunno, Seth MacFarlane wrote the script and that's a pretty Seth idea.
>>
>>92333993

The real question is, if Johnny is a virgin or not?
>>
>>92342427
Johnny was offered as a virgin sacrifice to a volcano and it spat him back out. He probably scores a lot. They just can't show it for obvious reasons.
>>
Is it weird that I think JB is the best classic CN show? I know most people say Dexter's Lab or PPG but I always thought JB was funnier
>>
1 is a classic
2 and 3 the funniest
4 tried so hard but it wasn't funny or clever at all
>>
>>92338313
Johnny has to have some knowledge to be able to make those pick-up lines.

Season one was the best. As a non american I didn't get half the jokes in those celebrity focused episodes.

I also enjoyed some of the episodes where Johnny was somewhat competent, like the secret agent one.

who was the best celebrity guest? and why was it Luke Perry?
>>

The first Donny Osmond one is one of my favorite cartoon shorts.
Also, Scooby Doo, if that counts. That may just be the best episode of Johnny Bravo.

Seasons 2 and 3 are actually watchable, I know people complain about Johnny being too stupid in this version but I thought the humor worked due to the strong supporting cast to bounce off his stupidity which the first season severely lacked since Johnny was too much of a straightman so the humor was largely centered on his reaction to the weird shit every episode which didn't work .Not sure how anyone can sit through Season 1 and 4 since the plotlines were always so fucking dull and had the worst episodes as well.
