Not all gems live on Homeworld they live on other planets under diamond dominion.

The gem homeworld is in the Milky Way not another galaxy.

The diamonds dont care about individual planets no they own entire star systems instead to give an idea of their power. Our solar system was the property of Pink Diamond.

Gems practiced genocide openly bringing multiple races to extinction with zero remorse.

Pink Diamond spent time on Earth because it had lots of human toys to play with. Pink would make native humans worship her and do savage things to prove it such as sacrifice their children or behead animals in a pattern. She even made a bunch of tribes kill eachother for fun and even had plans on puppeting all of upcoming human history.

Sugar isn't afraid of suddenly making things relevant again or kickstarting big plots out of nowhere. Centipeetle's return and this whole human zoo thing really kicked off out of nowhere, for example. If they want Jasper out, they'll concoct some quick reason to do it.

One of the reasons I suspect there's a lot left to tell is that we're not even one step toward Steven healing corrupted gems. That's going to be a big plotline and has been on the backburner since season one.

i don't like shitting on other artists, i have a hard time drawing a decent pearl without reference, and i can kind of draw steven but i'd have to ref about 10 pictures before i can get it, but that's the point, influences. that's the problem i see a lot of tumblr artists run into is even if they are good at one thing it bleeds into another cartoon/style and it doesn't fit. for example a person being really good at drawing some anime, and then attempting steven universe and then attempting another show while maintaining the same style from before.

it just doesn't...work that way.
