If you want classic horror Vampirella start with the original Warren magazine. It's best described as morbid cheesecake.

If you're looking for a more story driven stuff star with the Harris comic Vengeance of Vampirella, and keep reading the books until the end of Mark Millar's run, these are 90s bad girl books at their best the ammount of talent is staggering.

If you hate Vampirella and the female form read the Dynamite books. They reboot every other year with some new absurd premise. These books are only worth it for the variant coves which are pretty good most of the time.

Issue #0 of the current reboot I thought was really intriguing. It was the first Vampirella book I've ever read. The first issue was just alright, but had potential though. What I hated was her design. In this cover, the design actually looks really sexy and cool, almost like Bayonetta. In the actual book, it looks too conservative and boring. Maybe it's the artist because on a lot of variant covers, it looks better. I also hated the shorter dyke hair on her. I don't know much about Vampirella, but it seems like she should be feminine and sexy.

Although, in a way, the new outfit looks even skankier, kinda like she's a prostitute selling her body on the corner of some seedy street.

I actually liked the explanation that in a future where normal people walk around wearing nothing but a strap-on and pasties her more conservative dress stands out and is more shocking than something like her classic outfit would be. But I may just be biased because I find it cute.

It was my first time with Vampirella (kek) and I knew it wasn't going to be like that going in, but I really wanted a more traditional Vampirella. The first few issues, while good, also seemed a tad SJW to me and that rubs me the wrong way.

That said, I do kinda like her attitude though.

There's two things Dynamite does constantly, One covering her up every chance they get and patting themselves on the back and chastising the reader for wanting to see the red one piece, but at same time selling cheesecake variant covers

the big change story wise is Vampirella being an alien from a planet of vampires is completely retconned from Dynamite, which storywise is the backbone for all the old stories, and changes her power set to that of a generic vampire. her role in the Dynamite books is just that of a generic self hating vampire hunter of vampires.

that wouldn't be so bad but again Dynamite loves to poke the old Vampirella fans (who are the only fans book only sells 4K a month) and tell the reader constantly that the alien origin is stupid.

She is right now THE ONLY SLUTTY VAMPIRE character in any form of media known, its not fair that assholes like dynamite want to eliminate that, that swimsuit is just as much part of her identity as anything else, taking that just eliminates the main reason she exists.
