Wonder Woman's usually used to represent God as well and the corruption of Superman. I'm not even kidding. That's her role in most SM/WW and Trinity shit.

Basically you've Superman, who both Man and God and is bit conflicted about his roles, and then you've Batman trying to emphasize his Man side and Wonder Woman trying to emphasize his God side. That's why Batman calls Superman as Clark while Wonder Woman calls Superman as Kal.

Batman, much like Lois Lane, serve as a reminder and representation of Superman's humanity, the Clark Kent identity, the man who was raised by two kind-hearted folks from Smallville as a simpler farmer's kid and grew up to become a responsible and productive member of society.
Wonder Woman, though, with the "Kal" thing, is used as reminder of Superman's alien origin and to represent his potential as something far greater than mere man or hero. That something is usually left ambiguous, but is evident it represents something godly.

That's why sometimes in their team-ups you've Wonder Woman acting OCC with her reminders and attempts to convince Superman of his otherness by way of exalting his superiority, be it physical or moral, in relation to the mere humans they are sworn to protect and help, as well by drawing parallels between them as to distinguish them from everyone else as something unique and complementary. This odd portrayal of her character is far more common in stories featuring them as possible or actual couple, but it sometimes creeps into non-shipping stories featuring the two as well.
You can see in the stories where they end up as couple that invariable Superman's "human" persona is either already dead, mostly due to Lois death, or ends up slowly dying eventually, leaving nothing but the heroic and sometimes-not-so-heroic Last Son of Krypton behind. It's as if Wonder Woman represented the possibility where Superman much like Herakles/Hercules shuffle off this mortal coil and ascend to godhood by finally accepting his alien heritage, whatever that entails.
