Storytime: The Weird
Some one was looking for this yesterday. So here it is.

Another Gardner reaction for the collection.

>Look at this weird blob of energy that showed up out of nowhere
>I have no idea what it is or what it could do
>Imma touch it
Supes pls
Thanks for sharing this, OP.
>>92318857
Wait, isn't this guy in Marvel now?
>>92319072
What's it going to do to him, sting a little? If anyone can afford to be dumb when it comes to mysterious glowing objects it's Clark
>>92319168
Nope. In fact. He was part of Stormwatch in the New 52.
>>92319168
Doubt it he showed up in New 52 Authority, also by Starlin.
>>92319385
>Lance armstrong

>That was the dudest, dad!
>I can't wait to tell all my fellow kids about your radical feats, yo!

>"This symbiotic relationship is completely involuntary on the zarolatts' part".
Then it's not a symbiotic relationship, it's a parasitic relationship.
What a cool concept. Has this character been revised since? Aside from the New 52 version I mean.
>>92319892
A parasitic relationship is a mode of symbiosis. You can also have a mutualistic and commensalistic interaction.
Supes, just talk it out.

I just finished reading all of it (that Weird mini is actually collected in the 2nd Mystery in Space TPB from 2006)
Are you going to storytime the rest of Starlin's Weird/Captain Comet/Adam Strange stuff?
Reading order is:
The Weird 01-04
Hardcore Station 01-06
Mystery in Space 01-08
You could push Countdown to Adventure in here to links and sets up a lot of the story for the next mini, but why would anyone want to read that?
Rann-Thanagar Holy War 01-08 + Hawkman and Adam Strange Specials
Strange Adventures 01-06 (2009)
>>92319232
Starlin has managed to shoehorn him into almost everything he's written for DC
>>92322147
Oh and to better understand why Rann and Thanagar are always fighting each other, one has to read Adam Strange: Planet Heist 01-06, Infinite Crisis: Rann-Thanagar War 01-06 and the Rann-Thanagar War Infinite Crisis Special.
Goodbye Staten Island,
farewell to Time Square
It’s a long, long way to Tipperary,
and my heart’s
right there.
Thanks for the storytime.

I don't know what I expected going in, but it sure wasn't this.
>>92318320
Late 80s DC is a fucking wild ride.
>>92322599
did he died?
Goodbye, transdimensional space daddy.
Thanks for the dump, anon.
Really made my day.
>>92323217
he gets better
>>92319138
I really hate the term "Mary Sue" for how overly broad and overly abused its become.
But this issue is the most painfully Mary Sue thing I've seen since the Usenet days. Its only purpose was to set up Starlin's donut steal and have him smack around DC's powerhouses, nothing personal kid.
Nobody actually likes this character or miniseries, do they?
Thanks OP.
>>92323411
Sounds to me like you just don't like cape comics.
>>92323411
I'm actually more fond of the concept of an energy based being reaching our world and learning about feelings and freedom of their physical rules. The supes are just complementary.
Why does DC need Dr. Manhattan to show up, when they've got this guy?
>>92324044
>Why does DC need [A-lister] to show up, when they've got [Z-lister]?
Because no one knows The Weird while everyone knows Dr. Manhattan.
Weird indeed
bumping for others
>>92321861
>Man of Steel 2
>>92322147
I may, but I'm not sure.
I hope you all enjoyed.
Thanks, OP.
