What will it take to get Tynion off of Detective Comics? He's one of the worst writers at DC and yet he's heading their literal namesake title; is Snyder's pull that strong?
I really don't want to see his name at the top of #1,000
Honestly I don't know who I would want to be on 'Tec given the active writers right now.

Who wants to bet that they will get Oneil, Morrison and maybe even fucking englehart for #1.000 ?
>>92298257
I didn't know DC was doing THAT bad I mean I know their movies are shit and probably lose them money but with those sales they probably won't make it to August let alone next year

>Who wants to bet that they will get Oneil
I haven't really heard anything from him in years so I did a Google and apparently he just does an online column now.

I guess there's nothing stopping him from coming back for a big milestone like this one. If I had to guess they'll probably do something similar to when they "re-hit" Detective Comics #27 and just have a super sized issue with a bunch of different writers.

Are those sales even that bad for Detective? I know it's DC's namesake but as far as I remember it's sold less than the main Batman since before New 52.
>>92300812
Not likely.
>>92300883
This is the sales for the comic series Detective Comics, not DC as a whole. Unless of course you already knew that and you're just trying to start a shitpost consolewar, in which case go fuck yourself.

'Tec was also selling at 45k before Rebirth, so your point is invalid.

>as far as I remember it's sold less than the main Batman since before New 52.
Keep in mind that New 52 'Tec was complete crap save for a couple arcs which were ok.
Double-shipping is going to cause sales to drop faster than normal issue to issue numbers.
But for 1k it will probably be a collab of several short stories with all-star creators. I expect the same for Action 1k. You will not have the normal creative team telling a normal story there.

>implying this is bad
You do realize that Tec #954 and #955 last month were the 18th and 19th best selling comics respectively overall right? (16 and 17 if you only count the Batman and Flash issues that were split on the chart as one book each)
Next month they'll almost certainly be selling more than literally every X book and every Spider book.

>completely misusing the term invalid as the basis of your argument
It's like I'm in 2008 again.
>>92302053
Oh right yeah, Tony Daniels CSI: Gotham.
>>92302246
Can we not support something simply because "fuck you better than Marvel!"? It's shit like that which supports terrible books
>>92304743
I didn't say that though. I was just pointing out that it's clearly not doing bad if it can outsell every X and Spider book.
>>92301235
It was selling in the 30Ks before the New 52 reboot, and that was Snyder's acclaimed Black Mirror run too.

I Didio ever shows up at a Con near me I'm making a poster of this and handing it to him.
Him or Harris who think Hitch, Daniels, and Manupul are writers when they suck at it.
>>92300812
Tynion has said that he made DC guarantee him the 1000th issue. It's crazy how much pull being Scott Snyder's friend gives you.
>>92307072
That's terrible
Jurgens doesn't deserve Action 1000 but at least he's an important part of Superman's history
